I started orientation with Swift on Monday the 18th, it was very informative and boring at the same time. it lasted for 3 days in Columbus, Ohio.
I'm going out next week, have to go to court on Monday. Going to enjoy this weekend with the family before doing my weeks of training with my mentor. I'm looking forward to it.
Got to meet my trainer before I left and he seems alright, funny thing is he's younger than I am 10yrs, didn't see that coming, but he's been driving for 8yrs so I know I can learn things from him.
I'm just looking to get out there and see the country from the road.
I'll update my time and provide pics of places I visit.
I want to let folks know, if you see pics I put up from the view of the truck, know and understand I'm having my trainer take them while I'm driving. I respect that big machine too much to try and take pics or eat while im driving.

Man, come on Tuesday! I'm itching to get out on the road.
I have a few buddies who drive for swift. 1 guy I use to work with at my previous job, the other is my neighbor and the 3rd guy I was in truck driving school with. They all told me how they like it at Swift and how they're enjoying their time.
I can't wait!!!
Have a question, I've been trying to find 1 of those large travel duffel bags, where can I find a good 1. the ones at walmart were too small. -
Work hard for SWIFT and they will do right by you. Come to think of it that works for most any employer (But not all I realize).
Also, stay out of the drivers lounges at the terminals. That is where the complainers hang out. You will become infected with a bad attatuide if you do.dog-c, BornToRun, Injun and 1 other person Thank this. -
TruckinBro Thanks this.

Not to change the subject here but I heard Swift trucks don't have CB's.Is that true?Just woundering...

I don't think any truck come with CBs it's up to the driver to purchase. I could be wrong though. That's usually the case.

Malerose Thanks this. -
Congrats!!! I'm excited myself, I start training Aug. 8th here in Richmond, VA with Swift!!!
