Looking at Ruan Transport for potential job later, didn't know if this is a quality company or not. I see they require at least 1 year of tractor trailer experience but I will be a recent driving school grad, should I hit them up anyway?

They will not hire you with out the one year.... They are a good company i worked there for two years up until i bought my truck. Get your one year and go with them, They have alot of accounts that get you home weekly if not daily.

There really all over alot of tankers out west. They lost a big account down there in fl about 6 or 8 months ago. They have alot of differant accounts from furniture to flat bed haulling steel to tankers just all kinds of stuff.

So finding a local driving job hauling tanker or maybe driving for a farmer during harvest time for a year would work for experience? Or does it have to be otr?

Finding a local job without any OTR experience is slim to none. Even a farmer or grain company want experience with driving OTR. They need to see you can handle the big truck in all kinds of conditions, climates, and geographical conditions such as climbing mountains, going down, etc.

My recommendation is to get with a company and get that OTR experience.

Mines well get tanker idea out, most tanker companies and more likely any company that have tankers required 2 years experience. Now SNI might be the only one but in general like fuel companies etc,you would need 2 years experience.
