After being out of the industry for 7 years, I find myself rejoining the fold. Must go to school again, lose my 3 years of exp, and start over. I am looking at Trans AM, WEL, and USA Truck. Any thoughts (good or bad).
USA or TRANS AM?

No direct experience with any of them, but if you search the threads, I think you'll find USA should be last on the list.
-
a member by the name of panhandle flash as a whole thread about trans am on here he gives it to you straight and i believe starts with training
Panhandle flash Thanks this. -
USA sucks at best. I've had two friends at Trans Am, and both were happy.
-
From some of the other posts I read,TA is pretty much down to either lease or go home.
-
If I can dodge the lease "bullet", how do you all rate TA for a starter company. I'm looking to put in my 1-2 years, avg 2300 miles/wk, work with my DM, and then move up. I don't want to make a mistake and be a "job hopper".
-
I don't know anything about Trans Am, but I worked at USA. Stay as far away from USA Truck as you can!
capital 48 Thanks this. -
A buddy of mine just spent 4 days in hell.... known as USA orientation. Might have been 5...I dunno.
He never got his questions answered. Has no, zero, nada clue what layover, detention, breakdown pay is. Even though he asked every day.
They're running 2 orientations a week through. His had 43 people in it.
Dumb ### went with USA because his PC crashed, and he couldn't apply to anyone else. I offered to let him use mine.
And yes...he knows I think he is a DA.Last edited: Sep 26, 2011
