I have lots of experience and drove for many truck lines in the past. Most of them are unstable as far as im concerned. I have been with this one over 3 years, I get very cranky and thats mostly the nature of trucking in the first place. Knight realizes this and I am still there strong. Last week I was really cranky and like I said they still appear stable, get some experience and go with them if you want a stable long term job for years and years. If you want to hop about truck lines though forget them and go with the ones that want turn over. Good Luck

..I almost quit every 3 weeks! ha ha There's good & bad---I'm there for the Express runs (out 5-7 days/home 3-5 days), no forced disp, no out-of-route mile tracking, daily payoff, dont mess with me (no threats!), etc---i.e. the perks---not the $$$. Average mileage is only 350/day with all the short-medium runs and live lds/unlds! But I consider myself "semi-retired' and dont need all that 'filthy lucre!' ha ha Good luck!!

It is funny. Driver's post that they hit the jackpot when they go to a new company. A few months later they have either quit, are planning on quitting and have not one good word to say about the company. It's like moving to a new town, meeting some gal that is the love of your life, and then finding out she's the town #####. Never ceases to amaze me.

lol. 4 months huh. Im surprised you made it that long. I cut loose after 3 months.
I ran out of Katy, TX. What a joke this shindig was. TX drivers were supposed to be home every weekend. lmao
Anyway, orientation was a joke. Then they sent everyone out to go track down abondoned tractors. I got a trashed out century class, and was told I would get a new volvo or Pete in 30 days. lmao again.
I remember a couple times I decided to stay out over a weekend, because I was told I could make some extra money. Id hustle to drop on a Friday, and sit until Monday for a load. Of course I wouldnt get layover pay, because they would dispatch me on a load that picked up on Monday, hence, I was under a load.
When I did have hometime, they wouldn't even deadhead me 2 hours to get to the house, if they did it was reluctantly, and wouldnt pay deadhead miles when I came back out and picked up a load in my own town.
What a joke.

I'd have lasted 3 days there

Hmmm. Let me see what it would have been like if I would have gone to this oufit last week:

Orientation would have started on Monday. That Monday I would have heard the spiel, and Tuesday I would have gotten a physical and maybe the "starter kit" one will get with just about every company while at orientation.

On day three my colleagues and I would have been told to go get abandoned rigs out in the world. That is when I would have either driven off in my own car or I would have headed to the bus station, never to be heard from again.

Drivers don't leave trucks out on the road unless there is a #### good reason. If you come upon an oufit that requires its new orientation swabbies to go retrieve abandoned rigs as a first run, then you know you absolutely positively want no part of them. Or at least I hope you know this.

Never work for a company whose drivers are abandoning rigs. If a company's drivers are leaving trucks sitting around, the company is screwing those drivers somehow (you don't really need to know exactly the reason) and you want no part of that. You don't want to become just another drop in their latest pool of fools.

Yeah I drive a Swift truck
And that means one thing
It means she's slow
It's a typical company truck
It's just all show and no go

I'm gettin' passed by Yella
And even Overnite
I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

No, my hometown's nowhere in sight
And if you think I'm pissed off
You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.
