A recruiter wouldn't be driving truck number 348337 out of the St. Louis terminal. Or be willing to post pay stubs. Or willing to give out his personal cell number. I could also show you log sheets. Anything else I need to prove it?

There's an old saying, "me thinks you protest too much".

Why are you so determined to prove how great you say it is?

Why do you want people to call you? What's your angle?

    mje Thanks this.

Only because JB gets such a bad rap. Its like all big companies and its not perfect. And not all companies are the right fit for the driver. Why is it so wrong to you that I say how great I'm doing? If you had a good job wouldn't you like to talk about it? I offer people to call or ask me questions on here because I won't sugar coat anything. As a matter of fact I know JB corporate watches this board. Now being I said that the next think you will accuse me of is brown nosing. That is far from the truth. I may work for JB but if I was ever done wrong I will call them out on here without a second thought. I can only vouch for the division I work in and the people in those division. The rest of the company I can't speak for.

I'm glad you like them. I worked for them in 1992 and they were horrible. Good luck to you.

Jb intermodal is not bad at all. Its completelly different thing from otr. I've done both local and regional as o/o in Chicago. Very well organized, very busy. I netted 6k a month (as o/o) with every day home, weekends off. Company drivers gross about 1000 a week from what i heard. I switched to regional because got tired of Chicago traffic - averaged 2500 miles a week (monday - friday). Eventually i moved to florida (because i always wanted to live in warm climate) but if i would ever move back - id go back to jb. And i know for fact that company drivers get same loads, same miles as o/o's. Ive heard all those horror stories about them, but things changed. Otr may not be that good there, but if you want to be home every day or every other day (regional) - i recommend this job. And im not a recrouter - i dont even work there anymore:)

its been awhile since anyone posted here, but i am here to tell you that i just got out of orientation with jb hunt in jersey today and i start intermodal saturday... and first of all before anyone says anything, you can all check me out and the posts i have been doing for years on here, i am NO recruiter .. but i will post how it is going with being local for jb... i have heard the horror stories, i have talked to drivers who both hated it and liked it, i have talked to people on facebook about jb and have talked to drivers at truck stops, and at customers where i seen them there unloading while i was there ... this decision to go to jb was not over night, i have done alot of talking to drivers, and i have done my homework, read all the good the bad and the ugly about them ... they are just like any other company out there .. if there was such a perfect company they wouldnt be hiring because they would have 3 million drivers working for them ... and i read how people talk about the nightmares of being at jb and how they worked there over 10 years ago ... well to the defense of every company and not just jb ... companies change, people in the office change, policies change, and that is just the way it is in every industry .... some people say dont ever go to this certain company when they themselves are working for a company that has their own horror stories and they seem to like where they are ... so if any newbie reads this, do yourself a favor, search facebook, go to truck stops, etc, talk to drivers who you see currently work there and ones who dont ... find out why the ones are still there and why the others left .. also ones who are there ask how long they been there, the ones who left ask how long they been gone ... do this not just for jb but any company, but hear this advise ... when you ask people, ask guys who are older and grey ... the more experienced drivers will tell you more in detail about how things really are ... just my opinion ...

Are you going to the Harrisburg rail yard ? If so I would like to hear more from you about it such as likes and dislikes. I am trying to decide if it would be a good fit for me. I have already been interviewed and cleared by Schneider but I want to find out more about Intermodal in Harrisburg first so please keep posting your experience thanks

Im in the process of going intermodal local with them out of southgate, ca.

My biggest fear is how I read they book you for orientation and they run your background/dac/mvr after you get to orientation and send you home if they dont like the smallest thing they see.

I have been upfront with them about everything to the best of my knowledge as one should be. To my suprise they run everything before you get to orientation. I got a call a few days earlier saying my background/mvr came back looking good and what items to bring.

This morning my investigator called saying they had to put my orientation on hold because my company didnt officially close an accident I had 2 months ago (not my fault, truck backed into me at customer dock).

They have enough info to know its going to show up as a non chargable so they will let me know tomorrow if Im still good to go with this pending accident.

The reason I post this is it seems they have been upfront with me so far. At least if they cant hire me until my accident clears, I still have a job at my current company.

Im extremely leery of recuriters (former military) and I was just using mine (Jason) to process me in but he actually seems professional, gave me straight up answers and told me he didnt know when he didnt.

He did tell me local intermodal is first come first serve but he would call the weekend before if the slots were all full.

Also to back track, I originally called for a jack in the box dedicated acct. He said that was full, I told him I wanted local but he said he had no local jobs open. He never tried to talk me into otr or regional but he said he would call back if a local gig opened up. I figured it was the typical recuriter bs talk and scratched jb off my list. Sure enough he kept his word and called me the next day.

If I do end up getting on with these guys, I will start my own thread but so far they have kept an open line of communication and have been transparent with me.

Like I said, for whatever reason if they dont/cant hire me, I still have my current job because they were upfront
