Well a while back I posted about my start at JB Hunt and doing Intermodal in the Kansas City/St. Louis region. Since late AUG 2011 things have been going great. I have no complaints and have never had more logbook than work. For the first time since I started driving 11 years ago my hard work and safety record is paying off. After only 8 months I have been offered a local Intermodal job. There was a long list of others wanting the same thing but they look for the ones that work hard, drive safe and have a good attitude. So as of Thursday I start my first week. To start out I'm doing a late afternoon shift starting around 15:00. Not the hours I prefer but I'm taking what I can get. It will leave me time during the day to get things around my house so I think it will work out. Anyway if anyone has thought about doing JB Intermodal I highly recommend it. You never sit waiting for your next load. Everything is GO GO GO!!!! Well good night all, gotta rest up for my long night tomorrow.

    mje Thanks this.

JB Hunt is notorious for the bait and switch. They will promise a good dedicated job to get you to orientation.

Then the switch. "Oh, that position is no longer available". You can talk up JB Hunt all you want too.

I know from experience they are a bunch of low life snakes.

This is the reason I bought another semi to do intermodal work. Almost went to JB after my last semi broke down for good.

Yup...seems he missed that part. I know I wouldn't work for JB based on the sheer amount of horror posts and stories, but it seems to be working out well for the thread starter.

Best of luck to you sir on your new position!

I did the JB Hunt thing years ago. 1500 miles the first week,1200 miles the second. I told them to take the truck and shove it!

If you are making the money you need to support your house great, and if you are getting benefits also thats awesome. Every big company gets ragged on it seems by someone not being able to do the job they signed up for period. I'm no supertrucker lord knows lol, but i do believe half of any job is attitude.

    mje Thanks this.
