As you can tell, I'm a new member here, though I've lurked and read here many times. A little about me, I have 10 years of experience. I've pulled dry van mostly, but also have done reefer and flatbed. I currently work for Crete and enjoy the miles and pay, but coming up on the year mark with them, there are "quality of life" things which could be better. I was hoping that this would be my last move for a while, but if my perfect fit exists out there somewhere, it would be in my best interest to find it. I thought that a fun exercise would be to make a forum post here with a few conditions, and get feed back from any of you whose CURRENT employer meets or exceeds them. I also figured that the feedback would be useful as a one-stop shopping place for anyone else who has similar needs, and gives you an opportunity to cheerlead for a company you enjoy working for.
Alright then? Let's do this.
1) Must be a company driver position. No O/O or lease programs.
2) Pays a minimum of 40cpm (obvs. experience is not a problem)
3) Provable weekly mileage of 2500+ (could produce statements if asked)
4) Tractors have diesel-powered APU and have/allow inverters.
5) Minimum hometime requirement: 3 home for 21 out for OTR, for regional, it's negotiable
6) Reasonable benefits package
7) Hiring drivers out of central Kentucky
Aside from that, I don't really care about anything else. I don't care if it's a small personal company or a mega-carrier. I don't care if it's 48-states or regional. Crete actually meets all of these requirements with the exception of #4. Their battery-powered APUs are very limiting and they stay on you about idling. I run hard, but when I am sitting or taking my break, I like to be comfortable and power my gadgets.
Give it your best shot. I'm really looking forward to hearing about any companies which could possibly meet all of this criteria.
my perfect fit needs your input

You should give Tyson's private fleet a look. Amazing bennies and 12-14 days out, apus, 40cpm, etc etc... Just wasn't where I was supposed to be, but a #### good place!
soopageek Thanks this. -
and 70mph trucks..... That's important too.

Yeah, when I pulled reefer I was in a lot of Tyson facilities and they seemed to have nice equipment, but I've never heard anything - one way or the other - until now about what it was like to work for them. I'll keep it in mind.
If you don't mind me asking, why DID you leave? -
The company I work for meets all of your requirements except they hire owner operators. Pays between 90 and 95 cpm plus fsc. Reefer company. Been here a long time check them out if you are interested. Lot of opportunity and the girls in dispatch always get me home when I need or when I want to head north to see my brother in New England. I work for seaboard transport. check them out. Good luck finding a new company or if you stay with Crete.

I have been hearing positive things about POLY out of Grand Praire,TX from drivers and just wish someone would answer the phone at recruiting......I have been with Crete almost 3 yrs now and Crete is not set up for a hustler out to run miles.
