Search Van Wyk on this site and there is a thread with over 160 pages of comments. I'm on that thread and I'm also a current driver for them.

Hey Husker, do you still drive for Van Wyk? What could a new driver expect to make with them avg a week?

Sure do! What you make really depends on what you're wanting to do. If you stick to Midwest regional the pay will be lower compared to northeast regional or long haul. I tell people to figure $800/week take home. That's not figuring in the 2 week idle bonus, 6 month safety bonus or the yearly profit sharing though. There's going to be weeks that are royal stinkers but those tend to be few and far between. We also get layover & detention pay which gets added on too.

    mxpx148 Thanks this.

Yes, if you meet their criteria. I am a recent graduate and I currently have an invitation to orientation.

I am still looking at a couple different companies, but they are certainly at the top of the list. $75/day during training(1-6 weeks depending on performance). After training, you start at 22% of line haul, up to .04 cpm performance bonus bi-weekly. They have profit sharing, 401k match, health and dental. Seem like a solid company, just trying to find which of the companies I am currently interested in fits our family's needs the best.
