I'm scratching my head at a couple of these posts, because I think they are unintentionally misleading. I think, if this list is gonna work, it's important to specify whether we're talking about O/O or Company Drivers. As a recent graduate with a new CDL, I have found *very few* companies that allow pets on Company Trucks.

I don't remember Conway being on my list of Yes's. I thought they changed their policy recently or something. I don't recall USX allowing pets if you're not going to be an Owner/Operator. I'd love to be mistaken.

My understanding of the companies that allow pets, based on both phone calls, and exhaustive internet searches in forums and company websites, are are as follows (as of Sept 2012):

Watkins/Shepard - Yes, after 90-day probation period (gonna have to board your dog for 3 months if you live alone)
Prime, Inc - Yes as Company Driver, $1,000 depo, $300 down, $50/week deduction thereafter*
Werner Ent. - Yes (unknown if policy is different for Company)
May Trucking - Yes, if O/O.
    Knight Transportation - No
    CRST - No
    SWIFT - No
    Schneider - No
    PAM Transport - No
    CRETE - No
    USA Trucking - No

*but if you're a recent CDL graduate, you can't take your dog with you during your initial driver-trainer period, which is 2-4 months.

Also it's one pet per person, if your a team of course you can have 2 , I ride with my husband full time and they have allowed us to have 2, another thing is the 300 in a one time thing, even if you quit and then come back you don't pay that again. We have 2 small chihuahuas equaling about 10pds lol

As far as USX, your are mistaken, US Xpress DOES allow a pet for company drivers. It is not one per driver it is one per truck. $500 non-refundable deposit and $10 a week. Policy has been the same for years. Also I think with any company that allows pets, if you are a new CDL grad, you are going to have to figure out what you are going to do with the pet during training as they will certainly not be allowed on the truck.

my old company, ffe allows pets depends on breed and they charged $200 non-refundable deposit, as well as charge you a penny a mile. so if your a newbie outa their school and have a dog, you'll be making 28 cents a mile.

the company i drive for now, Drive Logistics allows pets, no deposit and nothing per mile.
