Do yourself a big favor and forget about going to WVT. There are no miles and the supposed .40 per mile is for loaded only. You will average around .34. The company does not care if you are stranded for days once you get unloaded and the chargebacks will eat your check to nothing. Believe me one of mine went from nearly 1600 dollars to a little over 400. You figure.

I'll have my 2 years in this coming March 14th...times are tough, but they're tough all over.

I still have a couple of complaints, but I'll stick around and see if the trouble-makers get weeded out like so many before them...and if not, well there's always freight that needs moved somewhere, right?

Well, I'm sad to say that I'm looking for employment again. I'm still with Schilli at the moment, but things have gotten worse and worse. I heard the WVT local driver's contracts were nullified and that they now are only getting paid by the mile, which means they're probably only making $200-$300/week. They're considering doing the same to us, but in the meantime they have started using slightly illegal tactics to reduce our pay and basically screw us out of hours.

The terminal manager has messed with my pay for the last three weeks in a row and has made himself a thorn in everyone's side. I've contacted an attorney but the retainer is too expensive. I hate working 62 hours and only getting paid 50.

What a shame. They were great to work for before this new terminal manager took over. The owner doesn't give a damn, either.

That's too bad, it sounded like a decent place to work. Good luck!

Yeah, they say all good things come to an end...just bummed that it ended so soon.

I've given them notice that if they're only going to pay me for 50 hours that I'm only going to work 50.

As an update...

The attorney I've been talking with for the last few weeks has finally agreed to consider taking my case on contingency and I'm meeting with him tomorrow.

After 5 weeks of having my hours illegally reduced I finally reached my breaking point. There are many others who are fed up as well and I'm hopeful that what I'm doing will help us all and serve as a wakeup notice to this once-great company.

We were all sent a letter informing us that our contracts are worthless and that they won't be honoring them. We'll see about that.

The Indianapolis terminal manager has made a lot of enemies, except apparently where it counts...OTR drivers are talking about quitting outright and several of us local drivers are talking shutdown/strike. I keep asking myself, "Is this any way to treat employees during a recession?"

Sorry for the bloviating...just venting...

They are a flatbed company that does NOT get you thru the house a few times a week. In all honesty they do not even get you home each week. May send you home but, make you pay for the fuel to go there. Believe me my check had fuel taken out twice for over 600 dollars. The trucks are so worn out that they stay in the shop when you are near the terminal.

Yeah, that's one of Nathan Lindsay's new "screw drivers out of their pay" rules.

They now charge $1/mile if you go anywhere out of route.

I don't work for them anymore. Got fired yesterday after I refused to work another 16 hour day. Good riddance.

We all know trucking is what it is. All companies no matter who they are put the screws to you. Thing with Wabash is they make you sign a contract before you go to work with them. Then they change the payscale and such and you are not supposed to be nad,

I disagree. There are a few good companies out there, I'm sure. Schilli used to be a great company before Nathan took over as Terminal Manager. They had to hire efficiency experts to come in and tell them what they're doing wrong...how sad. It's obvious...he destroyed the Car Haul Division and is now working on the Specialized Division.

...and the worm turns...
