I know you can look up the CSA rating for individual companies, but I couldn't find a list that ranks them. Does anyone know the top 3, 4, or 5? I work for Crete and one of the safety people said there are a few companies with better ratings but I never heard who they are. Also, does a good rating necessarily mean (or not mean) it's a good company? It seems like it could indicate a good employer because of well maintained equipment, but I'm not sure all the ins and outs. Thanks for any advice or info.
Which trucking companies have best CSA rating?

There are 5 categories of scores that the govt makes public, 1. unsafe driving, 2. hours of service, 3. fitness, 4. drugs and alcohol, and 5. vehicle maintenance.
The vehicle maintenance category is the one that reflects the condition of the equipment - tires, lights, etc. A good CSA score doesn't mean or not mean its a good company in every aspect, but it does tell you a lot about the company and how they run. I think companies with lower CSA scores don't get as much scrutiny with enforcement as they have built up a good reputation.
The lower the score the better the score. The higher the score the worse. I work for Heartland and have for many years. The scores are easy to look up. Here are a few vehicle maint scores as of November of this year:
Heartland 12.5%
Marten 23.7%
Con-way 32.3%
Crete 41.5%
JB Hunt 48.1%
Schneider 57.9%
USA Truck 65.5%
Dart 82.1%LodiKen, Ralph4159, mje and 1 other person Thank this. -
Thanks, you broke it down into exactly what I needed.

Gordon Trucking has real good numbers, so does Market Transport out of Portland, OR.

Just remember, those scores are updated monthly. A cruddy month at the coop can put a good company in the dumper very quickly.

We had a bulletin at our terminal of a drivers actions that increased our maintenance rating by 22% by himself. It really doesn't take much to jack it up one month. Read the reports in depth and you'll find its mostly driver laziness .

Yes we know. You live off that website. Nobody has forced them to drive broken equipment. Don't speak on something you know nothing about. Keep on being a keyboard analyst. Do you even drive anymore? I doubt it since your constantly on here.
Or you got sources right? Same sources that told.you our check were bouncing? Shouldn't believe everything you hear.Bakari742, Horselovers and The Challenger Thank this.
