Not sure who your question was addressed to, but by chance if it was to me....yes, I like my Cascadia. I didn't say it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, just that I like it.

They really are putting a nice fleet together there and that says a lot to me. Always interested in what's going on there and their high cpm rate is very attractive. They love the short haul stuff I know but a driver could get used to that I'm sure at 48cpm. Lol. Anyways thanks for the info and keep it coming. Have a good one!

Hmmmm... some of the new trucks from Heartland are 2013 red Freightliner Cascadia 72" raised roof condos with Detroit Deisel engines. Yes, I said 'RED'. I have never seen a red Heartland truck unless it was an owner operator.

They had red freightliners in the past. That would be several truck styles back, but you still see a few used as yard trucks at terminals.

Heartland trying out some different engines in addition to the Maxxforces - Cummins 15L and DD 15L. Heard good and bad comments about the Maxxforce, you either like em or don't, but they get good mpg.

Opti Idle is better than having nothing, and having your top speed drop for idling when you have too.
Trucks are up and down on fuel economy. Since heartland does not like aligning trailers, or doing overheads on tractors. We loose allot due to things drivers cannot control. And every truck is different. I have had a max force that it was like pulling teeth to get 6.2 out of it, and half my loads are under 20k. Then I have had one going around 7. Same with the cummins trucks. Anywhere from 6.5 to 7.2. Depending on the truck.
And no, these are not short term load to load mileages. They are over time.
The DD 15 and new ISX 15 can get better than either of the old engines, and have more power. Unless they cut them back to 425 hp or something stupid like that. Which would play hell with a 15L engine.

    The Challenger Thanks this.
