Being that most of what is posted around the internet sheds a negative light on this company, let me say, in my experience, thus far it hasn't been so bad. My story actually starts off with Boyd Bros. who pre-approved me, sent me to Cincy, and promptly turned around and sent me home. The reason? Drug charges have to be atleast 10 years old. I had a possession charge in 07 which was dismissed, told the about it, even faxed them my DAC report, and was told, by the head of recruiting, that because it was dismissed, no problem. At the doctors office waiting for a physical and drug test, they came and got me and said I was going home. A little peeved and not looking forward to another 12 hour stint on the dirty dog, I called the recruiting office and was told the head recruiter wouldn't be in till tomorrow. What a waste of time, I didn't really want to be a flatbedder anyways :p Luckily, I had some other pre-hires out and as luck would have it, my bus ticket home was taking me through where superservice brings you for orientation in Kentucky. Got on the phone at 3 in the afternoon and they said they would have somebody come pick me up for orientation
starting on wednesday (this was monday). So SS has Boyd to thank for having to spend 35 for an extra night in the hotel instead of 100 for a bus ticket. Oreientation was pretty normal, a bunch of paperwork, bs, blah blah, they did take us out to the corral one day for lunch, and gave us a 10 dollar gift card for dinner one night. They required 6 months exp and i had 5 mo and 2 weeks, so i had to go out with a trainer, for a minimum of 1 week, up to 2 weeks. Whatever, I hate riding with somebody else but you gotta do what you gotta do. Trainer cut me loose after a week once it became obvious i wasn't a total screw up at driving, got my own truck. Yes, very high mileage but overall in good shape. Havent had any problems with it so far. Doesn't leak fluids, doesnt burn oil, actually gets very good gas mileage (not that that makes much of a difference to me), so im guessing it has been maintained pretty well. Two calls to breakdown were promptly answered, one for a flat, the other for electical issues which i ended up fixing, and my dm and dispatcher have been nothing but professional and courteous to me. My first week mileage was ~2300 and have been steady around that number since. Pay starts at.31, + .01 for hazmat on all loads, and plus .02 for the amount of miles the truck has. So i went from .29 with my first company to .34 with this one, something that would have taken 5 years of raises with them. .34 with 6 months experience? I think thats pretty good. While the standard issues that drivers always ##### and moan about are present, as they will be with any large company, I have nothing but positives to say so far. A $2500 sign on bonus paid in intervals during the first year is pretty nice too. Maybe if you've been driving for a while, your expectations are a little higher, but why would you be working for a company that hires students anyways? Next year, with a .01 cent raise and if they dont take it away from me, this truck mileage will get me another .01 cent raise, ill be at .36 with less than two years experience.
No complaints, I'm content here. Isn't that what we all really want anyways?

As long as YOU'RE happy that's all that counts, other people seem to forget that too often.
