I am looking to go back on the road and have been looking around an weighing my options. Does anyone have any info on these three or any other small to medium companies hiring out of NC? Also I think I already know the answer to this one but is there any such thing as a good lease purchase with any company right now?

How long have you worked for SLT and how is the home time. I was told between 3-5 weeks out which is ok. Also how are the miles and the bonus program? Do they really pay a base weekly pay with the extra's and bonuses?

I've been here about 7 mos . . . I get home every 4-5 weeks. I think solo's are 3 weeks, teams are 4-6. We avg. about 4000 miles/week, make about $1300/a piece. Nice thing is that we're guaranteed $150/day even if we sit all weekend. We've always gotten our weekly bonuses.

stay away from gp if you can. their dot score is usually in the 90's which means you will be roadsided often and they had a fatality in Knoxville a few months ago. the equipment is pretty shaky at best. average length of haul is about 225-275. when you go to a drop and hook customer, they expect you to be the yard jock before giving you the load. all this is ok with the company as it costs them nothing. If you are into free labor and decrepit equipment, knock yourself out. hope this helps some.
