My husband has been truckin for about 8 years now. He has worked for Prime, Marten, Volunteer (now White Stone), and is currently at First Fleet. He is looking to leave there and considering Volunteer Express out of Nashville or Maverick. He has flatbed, reffer, and box experience. What do y'all think? He wants and needs to be home on weekends.
Volunteer Express or Maverick?

I'm gonna say Volunteer Ex. Maverick might not be to bad as well. If he wants to be home weekends go with a local "daycab" company. Vol and Mav won't get ya home every weekend because they are an OTR type company. Good luck.

Also look at Big G Express out of Shelbyville, TN. They have a terminal in East Tn. White Pine, Tn. I believe. Our drivers get home most every weekend unless you elect to work, check out their website, then PM me if you have any questions. I am a driver there myself and am very happy thus far...

Volunteer will not get you home each weekend but they still let you run cowboy style if your husband can do 4000 miles a week solo, Maverickwill get you home more weekends and has exceptional equipment but it is flatbed work.

I have heard a lot of positive comments about Maverick over the years, sounds like a great starter company for flat bedding, don't know about their other divisions and know nothing about Volunteers. Good luck in the search.
