Sent Application to Landstar, Landstar called today, approved.
Figured I'd start a thread on my daily dealings with Landstar. My goal before getting my CDL was Landstar. Today is here. Kinda funny, felt like a long time to wait, but now I don't feel like I have a bunch of time to waste. Have to find a truck and send Landstar a bunch of paperwork. Busy... Busy...
Stay tuned...

Got the pre employment drug screen done today. Printed all the paperwork off and started filling out what I could.
Still looking for a truck. I've been looking for a long time now, but I'm getting less picky. I'm also getting less optimistic a great deal on a pre-egr detroit will fall in my lap too. Broadened my search for any 2003 or older pre EGR. Used to just want a 13 speed, but now looking for 13s 10s and super tens. I test drove a truck with a super ten the other day. Really like that transmission, way less shifting involved. I'd only driven the straight ten up until that super ten test drive. Haven't tested a 13 yet, but they're all pretty easy, just subtle differences.
Got another thread on my truck hunt if anyone is looking to sell:

Found a truck I like, but the price is high. Just outside my comfortable buy outright range. Waiting on the bank for financing.

What are you looking to do with Landstar? Flat, van?
-
Van to start. It's all I know. I've pulled reefers too, but I could go the rest of my life without pulling a reefer and be completely content.
Dave_in_AZ, Joetro, double yellow and 4 others Thank this. -

Just sent all the docs over to LS. Bank called yesterday and approved my financing. If all goes well today on the dealer/bank side with the paperwork, I'll be headed over to the dealer tomorrow to pickup my new old used truck.
knuckledragger, milskired and Battle Born Thank this.
