After looking at a few opportunities , I chose this company . From day 1 till the end of orientation, very friendly and helpful people here . I have a good feeling about working here. The equipment is good , modern Freightliner Cascadias . The shop works with you , they install your CB & inverter for you . I had a small issue with the truck , and it was resolved quickly for me . Rider & pet policy is available , as well as medical & a company paid life insurance policy .
So just waiting for the drug test to come back ..... and off we go . Dispatch seems to be flexible and they work with you . Lots of perks here and there , so I hope to get some of them . I will post again later on after the first dispatch .......

How fast are the trucks? are they manual or auto? Miles per week average and what's starting pay?
MCR6468 Thanks this. -
Starting pay is .37 cpm .... 10 speeds .... 65 miles per hour . I have heard from a couple of drivers here they will give you as many miles as you can legally do ..... 3000+ . Quarterly safety and fuel bonus . Family atmosphere here T_TRUCKER. I haven't seen a place like this in my years of driving . Flexible dispatch . Now I did hear that they are getting the Internationals automatic for fuel consumption issues . But for right now I have a Cascadia , well maintained truck . They do Cali/Fl and many other places ...... but they have the work and the miles . Hope that helped .

This is a good company to drive for but the
Health and Dental insurance sucks. They
told me when I came to work for them that
they where getting a better insurance plan
in October. Well they decided against that
and as a consequence a lot of their drivers
quit recently. Over all not a bad company to
drive for. Nice equipment and generous with
time off. Hopefully they will upgrade their
insurance next year.MCR6468 and The Challenger Thank this. -
subscribed, looks like a good future company.
MCR6468 Thanks this. -
They offer Blue Cross / Blue Shield . About $40 a week for just the driver . I don't know much about insurance , but it seemed better than what some have offered me ..... ZIP .
Got into the terminal today , was handed $75 cash for being laid over last night due to the drug test being late , and was given a hotel room also . This is a lot better treatment from an employer than any other I have had . Not only that , I requested to go home and get my gear and wife , and I was given a direct load to the house !! I was also called to see if i needed more time to get organized , but I told the dispatcher that I was ready to roll .....
I am really impressed so far , had I worked here before , I could have avoided all the pirates and Europeans that are more like slave masters . I will continue to post , and let ya'll know how the rest of the week goes .....Ericgishere2, Air Breeze and Night Prowler Thank this. -
This will be my last post on this carrier. I went from TN to Atlanta , del @ Publix Bakery Division. Sat there 5 hours after my app time , got dispatched to Macon in rush hour traffic , not fun . I went from Macon to Gordonsville TN on my next load , I had to cross some hilly and mountain areas .... this truck does 15 mph uphill with 40k + in the box .... that sucks .This truck is a big red lawn mower with a hitch , that's all . After Gordonsville I was given a load back to the yard to drop and hook one going to TX . Ok, 680 in 2.5 days equals dragging butt across the planet . I got to the yard and no trailer, no paperwork . Ooops .... the dispatcher forgot to tell me that the driver was in OH. Well, I call the main man there , I was a bit pissy ... and he comes down and first thing he does is set me straight , he's the boss , he's in charge , and I am to march to his beat . I'm pushing 50 , I'm no NEWBIE PUPPY ..... been driving 25+ years . Well after all is said and done , I am made aware that it was my fault by not asking where the driver was . I accept fault . Now , I sit in the yard for 12+ hours , nowhere to crap if I needed too .... but who cares , he went home to his TV and crapper . How I will make money here is the question , long waits at certain del points , 62 MPH truck on the pedal/64 MPH on the cruise . 15 MPH up hills . I am getting too old for this ... I see my days of driving ending soon , nothing has gotten easier , especially with E-LOGS on the truck . So, whoever reads this , sorry if I sound #####y , but in reality , this is like SWIFT in red , with a bulldog dispatcher ready to tear you a new one.I guess that from now on I will ask more questions , and remember that my survival here will depend on my being a good puppy , and not yank that leash too hard . Best wishes to everyone .... thanks for reading .

Doesn't sound like you got off to a good start. I have never had anyone at this company talk to me like I was some kid. I am averaging 3000+ miles every week. Those mountains you crossed over to get to Gordonville will slow any truck down to about 15mph with a heavy load. Yes they have some dispatchers that make mistakes. Every company i ever drove for did. I cant tell you what to do, it's your life to live. I would give it a couple of weeks at least before you quit. This is a very laid back company. I hardly ever hear a word out of them about anything. I know how you feel about driving a truck. I had exactly the same attitude when I came to work here. I have had my bad days too. It's just part of this line of work. I am sorry you got off on the wrong foot here. When these people get to know you they treat you very well. Give it a few weeks before you make a decision to quit. Anyhow good luck to you what ever choice you make.
MCR6468 Thanks this. -
