I drove for Allpoints (the company currently known as Dartco) for 4.5 years but that was many years ago, so any info I might have is no longer relevant.

I am curious if you know what kind of warehouse the one in Vandalia is going to be? Is it going to be another Mixing Warehouse?

Regarding a P & G mixing warehouse, it is a facility (they really call it a "Mixing Warehouse") that doesn't make anything, but they receive products from other P & G plants and sort and segregate them, then turn those products into outbound loads heading to customer destinations. Example: they might receive loads of P & G detergent and loads of P & G diapers, then turn those into several mixed loads of detergent and diapers going to grocery distribution centers.

Getting back to Allpoints (was not called Dartco when I was there). Yes, I enjoyed my time there. The only reason I left was to take a dedicated job closer to home...and that job lasted all of 6 months, then the carrier lost the contract.

This upcoming March will be 9 years since I left Allpoints so I'm sure things besides just the name have changed. At that time, all of the Allpoints drivers were dispatched from Sellersburg, IN (across the river from Louisville, KY) but at 1700 (5 pm, for those readers not accustomed to a 24-hour clock), the phones got transferred to Dart's HQ in Eagan,MN. I enjoyed dealing with Eagan. Most of the time, those folks treated the Allpoints drivers like the regular Dart contractors. They would give you a choice of loads, etc. When everybody delivered to the Twin Cities-area and went to the Dart yard in Eagan, everyone had to talk to Carey, the gentleman at the dispatch window. Walk up to the window, tell him who you were and you needed a load. He would begin reading off what he had. Easy pickings.

Allpoints also had their own planner in Eagan. Darcy was his name. Super good guy. He didn't mind the Allpoints drivers calling him if their miles were down or if they were going to be near Eagan and didn't want to deal with "the window".

I have nothing bad to say about Allpoints. When that dedicated job ended, I almost went back to them, but it was a 12 hour bus ride and I didn't want to do that again.
