I know there isn't much info about the smaller companies on here, so here goes. My company runs OH, MI, IN, IL, WI, KY, WV, VA, PA, and western NY. They pay up to .48 per mile and another .02 per mile each week for performance. No waiting for your bonus, it pays out every week. We get 2 choices on our schedule. Reset at home each week for 34 to 48 hours or run 4 days/ off 4 days. We train new drivers for 3 weeks ( I am a trainer for the women) @ $95 per day. Trainers are ALWAYS sitting in the seat beside you and guiding you. It is very intense training, but the goal is to get you safely into your own truck and making money.
I personally run the 4/4 schedule because I am older and home time is more important to me. Garner has BC/BS insurance, mostly new equipment, D+H freight, awesome support, and maintenance. I have been driving for Garner for almost 3 years and love it!

GDT, what's the starting pay at Garner for graduates? I was at the website and I couldn't see it. It looked like that part was down. I clicked on a link but it wouldn't open it, it said not available. I still like the running area, small company and the company sounds good but wondering if they raised the pay for students?

This is a trucking overall issue but I still can't figure out why they all are short on vacation time offered to the drivers.?? The one week of vacation after 1 year and 2 weeks after 3 years is a joke. I go on 2 or 3 vacations every year along with a few extended weekends. I always look at companies with better hometime options for that reason. If you don't have a life other than driving/working it seems more like an existence than living. I know where I live that probably wouldn't be possible with the 4/4 but maybe a 7/7 could be or a 10/7.
