Moderator, if there is a better place for this please move, thanks.

I am considering making a job change, tired of running in the east all the time and am interested in finding a company that runs mainly in the western states, any input on someone that is doing long haul with equal or better running in Gods Country would be appreciated. Been driving 25 yrs presently live in Bristol TN/VA area Thanks, Jeff

I remember seeing ads for Kennesaw out of Georgia. I don't know if they were team or not.

Crete, a good company (for now, anyway) based out of Lincoln, Nebraska, is a company that runs all 48 states and even has a terminal in both Tennessee (Greenville(?)) and Salt Lake City. I know you've seen their trucks out on the roads.

If you wanted to run out west for a while, you could run out of the Salt Lake terminal, and then run home to Tennessee when you need to head to the house. CCC even has a special western fleet. Maybe you could run on that fleet, even though you live in the east.

Don't worry about getting back home to Tennessee. When I drove national for CCC, I spent most of my time east of the big river, although my home was in the Salt Lake area. They'll get you back home easily.

CCC also has terminals in Phoenix and the Dallas area.

Well playa, like i said, i feel that:

Dirksen Transportation should fit the bill. The only reason why i haven't applied with them is that my apartment lease does not expire until April next yr. And they are located near, i think, San Jose? The other cool thing about Dirksen is that they run only petes. And i want to drive for them because i want to drive a COE pete, not because i want to drive west. I actually prefer COEs. Particularly peterbilts. But they also have conventionals (359's i think?) So you can choose.
I don't think this forum allows you to post links to other websites, but Dirksen definitely has a site.

Western Freightways has got to be a winner. They just got bought out by New Century and i know WF has petes. Wether the new aquisition will affect if they stay with petes i do not know. But even if they don't its ok----New Century runs KWs. WF also has a site.

I don't know. I think you western lovers are too antsy or something. I'm not trying to be arguementative or anything, but running east CAN and IS enjoyable--at least to me. Yes, the scenery out west is awesome. But truthfully running for hours and hours and only seeing land makes me antsy. I actually prefer to be around crowds and people.

But hey, if you really love running west, then go for it.

To each his own, I can go for hours without seeing other cars and be just fine. That means there are NO morons trying to commit suicide with my rig.
Lots of nothingness with only my Sat radio for company.
