What does anyone know about these companies that deliver piggy backed trucks to dealers and companies? They advertise .48-.50/mile, they fly you home, put you in hotels and free health insurance for your family. Are these the real deal or shady operations?

I done it a few years back.It was a nice change but you have to buy all your tools and luggage, which is expensive. There is alot of downtime as well. The job itself is fairly easy once you learn the do's and dont's.I actually make more at my current company pulling flatbed, curtainsides and conestogas.

I was out a month at a time. You can make decent money,50 to 60 a year possibly.I make 65,000 a year and go home every other weekend pulling flatbed.

I did it for awhile part time on weekends. Made some good extra money. But I worked on the storage lot so all the trucks I moved always seemed to have enough fuel to get it were it was going lol. But I've seen guys take cpl days waiting for release, repairs, or taxi to take them to next location. I pulled my pickup behind the truck and just drove it back home. Usually was a group of us so gas back was no issue.

SWIFT had the contract to deliver new VOLVOS a few years ago , lots of horror stories out of that , talked to a few drivers that did it over the years and big thing was the hassles after delivering and getting back to get next set of trucks to deliver , no eating , smoking or sleeping in the trucks and new trucks break down as well

i talked to driver about a week ago, who worked for Active, he told me they had free benefits, and fly you to next pickup. You're putting them up and down from each other.
He said money was great too
