How much WOULD I be paying Schneider if I quit 'em before the contract is up?

I believe its $4000- 4500 prorated for the amount of training you are there. You can actually view the contract on the schneider website. From main page click on drivers then processing forms. on that page you can see the actual contracts they will make you sign.

Hey Tip,
Here are my notes, good as of today (don't ask) per Schneider recruiter:
For Charlotte training center (that's the closest one to me)
5K outright (tuition deferment with a contract of 18 mos).
Paid back with payroll deduction of $13.89 per week ($55.56 per month) for 18 mos = $900 IF you stay w/Schneider for 18 mos.

I suppose if you quit, the contract you sign would be enforceable for the entire $5K.

Hope this helps.

That's what I suspected. Thanks a bunch.

I know I'd never go this route, but to each his own.

It means she's slow
It's a typical company truck
It's just all show and no go

I'm gettin' passed by Yella
And even Overnite
I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

No, my hometown's nowhere in sight
And if you think I'm pissed off
You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.

Much safer than driving in Iraq for a year making 100,000, or ice trucking...

When I signed on in March/April 2007 it was $3500 or free after 12 months of working with Schneider and no payroll deduction.

Many tech schools have CDL training for $1500 or so, but then you need to find a company to hire you (many won't without experience)

Each school has a different cost. The Fontana OC has a cost of about 4500 bucks. You pay 15ish each paycheck and they pay 55 themselves. IF you stay with them for 18 months, they will pay most of the cost with you paying about 900 of the total cost of tuition. If you cut out early or whatever, you will have to pay the rest of amount on your own at a certain percentage rate, here 18%

Come on guys. That's two YEARS to the bonus. That's quite a long time to be in the indentured servitude phase, don't you think? However, at 900, it may not be a bad deal at all.

My question is: if I were to sign on at Pumpkin, Inc through this program, and then I decided to leave before my slavery period is up, am I responsible for ONLY the 900? try about $6,500 with interest if you quit or fail towards the end of training. Good deal as long as you know you can make the 1 1/2 years with a 115% turnover ration that's a tough one to chew.
