As of now because the market is flooded; Trans Am (Oletha, Ks) will only hire L/O driver's it does not matter how much experience you have this is what they want. Trans Am's goal is to phase out company drivers period they are tired of losing money; How you ask? If the truck breaks down(and it will) as a company driver Trans am (not you) will have to foot the bill nothing less than $1750 for a tow and minor repair but if you are a L/O that $1750 is all on you. Along with that high ##### lease in which most of the L/O start off in the hole running or not because there is no grace period so be smart try to have some money saved or a loving support person who will help you out because you won't see a payday for a minute.
I know of a lady who worked a few years for them as a company driver she left and come back a few months later and was told if she worked for them she will have to become a L/O driver period. Yes, some newbies think they will be company drivers and those newbies WILL be company drivers all the way back home while they wait for a truck that will never come correction it will come but by the time it does you will need a refresher course in driving.
Now with that being said Trans Am is a good company to work for my old man gets his home time when he ask for it sometimes he get home a full day early which I hate, LOL they are good about that like when I was sick in the hospital they gave him the time off to be with me and they even asked me if I needed more time with him (After 7 days Hell to the No get him a load quick)

and he always has a load sometimes dispatch po him but nothing major. The problems he have are pretty much the same as all companies Crappy dispatch mainly weekends and nights, The L/O program and trying to figure out where is the .30 cpm when his stub says .20cpm, and me not being there because our child is only 7 and all riders must be over 12 it maybe different for L/O but he better not do L/O we can't afford the income loss right now.
