| I just turned in my truck at MAY after 6 months with them. The only complaints I had with them was their trailers and only paying to wash the truck every 2 months. I would of made around 47k after 1 year based on my total after 6mos at .37 a mile with this company and I did not really run that hard They offered me a dedicated account in the Northwest that would get me home weekly but I told them I was looking for a hourly position locally. They are pretty easy to get along with if you are able to communicate and let them know how and were you like to run and keep your logs accurate. I would suggest their refer fleet since the miles and equipt is better. They have a $2000 retention bonus after 1 year and also pay extra for high miles and anything under 30% idle time. As a side note their is no need to turn down freight at May. You just confirm the load and put a ETA/PTA in the comment section if you can not make the delivery on time. The reason you sometimes might get a load you can't del on time is because their is no one else to run the load. They have already calculated the drive time needed on a load but will either pull the load or reschedule if you say you can't make it. The key is information and not assuming anything. I had a good re pore with my dispatcher and May will prepln you much of the time and has a system of loops that make it almost seem like you are running dedicated and you can anticipate were you will be going much of the time even before you are plnd. One thing you should know also if considering this company is that anything that you need as far as pay, miles, home time, questions about load, etc needs to be completed during your assigned dispatchers shift. Night and weekend dp is hard to get a hold of and slow to respond to msgs most of the time and has little authority. Most likely you will be given 2 or even 3 loads on a Friday and need to be self sufficient running them over the weekend if regional don't know about 48. |

| Good post Bigblue. Hey I have a question for ya. I'm in Fontana, CA and need something that will get me home at least once every 5-7 days, maybe for a 10hr break or for a 34 restart. I know May is in Phoenix and has a drop yard in LA, and other points in the upper midwest. Is it possible to get through LA regularly? Are Phx-LA-Utah-Oregon and back runs possible as far as you know? |

| you will want the 11 western if you want to get home more often. I was 48 and I quit due to issues with my dispatcher and I did not want to drive in the snow Due to the fact that I do not have enought experince driving in wet or dry conditions. I did not think I could safely drive a truck with my little experince on the ice and snow. I did not want to be the one that kills an innocent person or myself with the little experince that I have. I know the adverage miles on a load is aprox 500 for 11 western |

| I can drive on ice and snow in my 4 wheeler just fine but I do not want to chance it in a big truck yet. In califorina, portland oregon, denver co you have to drive the truck like you stole it or you will have problems there may be other areas like that just have been in. If you are on the 11 western you will not have to worry about kc mo and saint louis mo but that is other places it is bad. Peice of advice for you is when you are driving on the highways watch all low clearance signs the trailers that 11 western pulls are usually dry box and they are 14ft tall there are some interstates that may travels on that have clearances of 13.1 and 13.6 I found one up north in washiton west of spokanne on I90 I belive. It was good that I watched all of the clearance signs because I would of took part of the trailer off. There are exits usually at those overpasses just exit and then re enter on the other side of it. just another bit of advice for you is list all damages on the trailer that you are pulling because you do not want to be blamed for it. I picked up a brand new trailer and it had alot of damages on it I listed all the damages and my dispatcher had me take pictures of it too. there was so many damages that I almost refused to pull it. There were no major defects just alot of scratches / gouges, paint scrapes. |

| HAHAHA!!! Drive it like I stole it? You mean because of the traffic? I drove through OKC, Atlanta, Phoenix, and a few other sphincter-tightening places that I hated. For me, slow and steady won that race. Sure, I made a lot of drivers angry with how slow I was going, but the fact remains that they are still alive today. That trailer height is something I didnt have to worry too much about with the flatbed, unless we had a lot of plywood stacked on there. Definitely a good thing to remember. |

They do have 13'6 trailers and are buying more but the majority of the dry box trl are 14' . If you run LA to PX loop or cal regional you will run dry and refer so only about half your trailers are 14'. Like I said if you tell them where you want to run they will run you in that area. I drove 05 dedicated and went home 3 days every 2 weeks. |

Thanks bigblue! That LA to Phx run is a dream come true! That is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I gotta get this house sold and the family out of Socal before I can get into longer runs. I dont mind the occasional two week run, but for the time being, I need to be close to home, and being a newb, nobody is going to give me a local gig. |
