Boyd Brothers just wanted to put in a little info on boyd brothers transportation, Im a new driver (5 months) I started with schneider, on the doller general account and it really sucked, so I got on with boyd. So far so good, they started me at .36 a mile then i go to .39 at 6 months, I get home every weekend for at least 36 hours and I get a 10 hour break every night. I drive a 04 international eagle wich is alot better then the big pumpkin that I was in. They will let you stay out as long as you want. The people are cool and they have alot of drivers that have been with them for many years. I was new to flat bed but its not that hard to learn, all the drivers are glad to help if you need it. The only thing that I dont like about flat bed is some times it takes a long time to get loaded at some of these half steel mills but boyd does pay detention pay if you are held up for over 2 hours. Chaining or strapping, and tarping your load can be hard work though. this site has been helpful to me, so I just thought I would put in my 2 cents, hope i dont sound like a dam cheerleading recruiter. To be honest I would never have started driving if I could find a good job were I live, but its a good job so far. The worst part is of course missing out on my 3 sons. Its not cheap living on the road and I miss going to the gym I still try to get in a good walk every other day. Last edited by Burky; 12.15.2007 at 07.32 PM.

Boyd Bros. Yes, any feedback on them would be much appreciated, especially from BOYD DRIVERS. They seem like a good company and I agree, an International is a good Flatbed Tractor. They ride really well and it's a very Industrial-looking Rig, perfect for flatbedding. Not sure what it's like to spend a night in one though, as far as driver comforts go. I used to drive an International avgas fuel truck and it was reliable too, no mechanical problems at all the 2 years I was out there. I have not heard anything bad about Boyd, but you know what they say, no news is good news. Thanks y'all.

that im not sure about, i had an old one to but it was not poss., cant hurt to ask the recruiting # is 1-800-699-1730 ext 2013 and tell them my short name sawt maybe they throw me a bone if you get hired. A little less then half of our trucks have apu's, though my truck does not. they are really nice, you can set the temp for the cab and a little diesal unit by the battery box kicks on and off when needed, keeps the batterys charged and provides a couple of ac outlets when running.

they have been saying frieght is slowing down but i have been running hard. I only have to cut my 10 short once in awhile and thats usually when i stop to eat and shower in the middle of the day. I only got about 1500 to 2500 miles a week at first but now im pushing almost 3000 a week and i still go home every weekend. alot of the loads they get, are open appointment where they will unload fisrt come first serve so if you want to run hard you can sometimes get unloaded a day early or at least try to be first in line. they will let you average 62 miles an hour on your log if you average more they will send you a letter once in awhile but so far nothing has really come from it. they go buy your log not quel com.
