| Isn't it ironic that no one ever worked for them, it's all "I heard! This or that! about TMC." Here's the scoop. I was leased to Watkins-Shepard out of Missoula MT and we hauled TMCs loads and worked side by side with them. They expect you to keep a truck spotless and shined inside too. You cant ahdve a tarp flapping in the breeze. Whats wrong with that? It shows pride. They told W-S, No crap in any of their customers lots, only largecars, clean and polished, no co. trucks either. TMC hauls roofing shingles bigtime, we didnt have to as we got the hi $ frt. Maybe they are the Marines but I respect them. I've seen trucks so filthy on the road I wouldnt touch them w/gloves on. If I ever need a load moved I'll require a spitshined largecar. It reflects on my business. Just look at some of these outfits. ![]() ![]() |

| 1 Truck Wash every week One day I was getting a trl washout and A TMC driver was getting his truck washed. The only thing was it was raining outside. He then went on to tell me how TMC made you wash your truck every week and when its raining was the quikest wait times at the streakin beacon. I guess he had a good point Just seems like a waste of money. My compnay just cut back fron 2x monthly to just 1 and they say its going to save over 100 k.

| I noticed somewhere back there that a comment was made about drivers not being allowed to have any tarps flapping in the wind. I just have to make a comment on that. A tarp flapping around is very bad for the tarp and can make it so the tarp must be replaced much much sooner than otherwise would be needed. Truck tarps are not cheap, and tarping properly does not take much longer to do than tarping loose, once you learn how to do it. If I was a manager at a flatbed company and I saw one of my trucks going down the road that had a loose tarp, I would be rather upset, and I would find out who the driver is. Some loads are harder to get the tarps secure than others are, but a professional driver will do everything they can to protect a load and his/ hers companys equipment. |

| There were two women in my class for orientation. One dropped out after realizing she could not lift the tarps. The other went with a trainer and I don't know if she is still with TMC but the company does hire females, just not many of them apply.

| Got My Truck! I picked up my truck in Lexington SC on Thursday. Had to wait on the load securement person to come in on Friday to finish processing. I slept in the truck that night and finished up at about 10 am Friday morning. My fleet manager got me a load to pick up in Kingstree SC and take it to the house in Lancaster SC. I deliver it in Lancaster PA on Monday. My little girls were soo excited to see me pull up to the house in the "big black truck that's a flatbed". I can't wait to start making some real money. That five weeks at 350/wk. put us way behind on some bills. |
