Before Thanksgiving I was averaging about 3000 miles aweek. After, 2400-2500, and that was because I used every trick in the book to get those miles.

Since the mid part of April I have seen a steady increase in the miles. I left home the afternoon of June 8th and have turned 10,100 miles as of tonight. I've wanted to do a 34 restart a couple of times, but due to the delivery times and my available hours, I've had to use all available hrs each day to deliver on time.

It sure feels good to work hard again, without trying.
Glad to see someone making money. I left the house on 6/1 and got back home on 6/27 and barely made 10,000. In that time I got what I call a good load once. Albuquerque to Brunswick, Me. Stay the heck out of Ohio too. I delivered into this state 3 times in four weeks and had to wait a minimum of 24 hours each time before moving again. Even Chicago was bad. When you get a load offer at 0600 and it is the last load available for that day things are not good.

I'll disagree with you on one other point. I DO believe that Crete is suffering worse than most other companies. Miles are down everywhere but particularly so at Crete.

They sure are hiring newbies. As long as you go to one of their quailified schools. Training is 8 weeks long at 500 a week.

If crete is suffering so bad then why nare they building a new terminal in Tennessee?
And another point i havent heard of any other companies ordering 1500 new trucks either. You know why they are not suffering because they are a privately owned company. But i have heard of companies downsizing their trucks, funny isnt it

If you want to know a company thet is hurting ask those schneider drivers. A 5 cent paycut and vacation time and 401K contrabutions taken away Hmmmmmmmm. But really come on now your really thinking they are going down the toilet?

Then that is a major reversal of company policy. When the downturn started one of the first things Crete did was to stop hiring newbs. Quite frankly this pisses me off. All we need now is to have to compete with a bunch of low paid newbs for loads.

No doubt Crete is worse than most other companies. For instance, I don't hear Jevic or Priority drivers complaining half as much as Crete drivers !
