Evertruckerr,

Were you ever able to find out what your net income was? I think it would help a lot of people out in their decision.

I know my net income was in the upper 30s

My income was in the upper 30s, maybe even very low 40s for about 10 months' work. Understand I also took my full per-diem deduction on my taxes, which will save you about another 2-3 grand on 40K.

Yeah I drive a Swift truck
And that means one thing
It means she's slow
It's a typical company truck
It's just all show and no go

I'm gettin' passed by Yella
And even Overnite
I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

No, my hometown's nowhere in sight
And if you think I'm pissed off
You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.

Thank you for information on crete

I would like to thank you for your info on Crete as it has helped me. I want to go work for them but I have one year before I turn 22, the required age. Is Schaffer any different than Crete or is it the same but hauling reefers? I saw Schaffer operates out of the Deland Terminal too. Any info is appreciated. Oh, do you leave the truck at the drop yard or take it home?

They're owned by the same parent

Crete and Shaeffer are owned by the same group: CCC. Shaeffer is a good company, and I base that on what I've read on sites like this one and heard on the road while driving.

Crete

NO TRAINING, ive been driving over 5 years, just making a better pay increase! The only thing that will change for me is, I will be running 48 States instead of Western States! The pay increase will justify driving on the East coast (i hope)... And yes I will keep ya posted on how Crete is treating me. DRIVE SAFE
