| hey timtruck, whats with all the negativity? you are getting out of hand in your comments, its time to come back to reality, maybe take a 34 reset and try again. the only crete truck that might be able to do more than 65 are the owner operators and yes, our trucks are being set to 62. matter of fact mine barely does 61. i wont comment on your other remarks as i do not want to stoop to your level of being so negative. otherwise hope your day gets better. |

You dont agree with Crete sending veteran drivers out with a trainer? This isnt the Matrix you know. We cant just plug a cord into our heads and just download all the information about a company. You go with a trainer to learn how that company does things. Jeez Tim, I thought you had it all figured out! |

Actually, I thought that is what orientation is for. I have not been or will be with a trainer since I was first required to be. My life is more important to me and I cannot sleep in a moving truck. |
| ||||
| So you remember every single thing that was talked about in orientation? What about the things that werent covered? If companies went through every single company policy in orientation, itd last much longer than just a few days. |

the only thing i remember from orientation is the people i met. you learn everything else out on the road and talking to drivers and mechanics.

As a matter of fact. Almost 95%. I have to attend meetings that are extremely boring each and every year discussing the many tax law changes which I have to know. I also have to attend many hours of CE for my Paramedic license. I also have to know all of the medicines that are to be used and the dosages required. I really cannot see any truck company having any need of someone riding in a truck if they have the ability to retain what is talked about. I know you don't agree, but realistically, alot of people can retain all or most of what is said in orientation if they pay attention. All the trainer did for me when I first started, was to tell me and show me off the record, how the company WANTED me to run the log book and how to do it illegally. |

| Indeed. Cretes orientation is 2 days and they pretty much fly through it since there is so much information to be covered. Thats why their orientation is AFTER training...because most people will remember something better after they actually do it for themselves. I was told is their reasoning...by one of the big wigs there in Lincoln. |

| Aww, really? They send experienced drivers out with trainers? Bummer, after almost four years sleeping in a truck that bounces down the highway while I try and sleep, I was looking forward to venturing out on my own POSTE HASTE. Oh well |

At least you could sleep. I managed about 2 hours a night with my trainer driving. It really made for a safe tired driver. I was a trainer for a while. They wanted me to sleep while the trainee drove. No thanks. |
