i drove for jacobson, i quit about 1.5 - 2 yrs ago. i really didnt have any complaints about them. i dont know, maybe i just got lucky. i worked there for about a year and a half. i started out as tx regional, then went otr. i had a crappy dispatcher for a while, but he got fired. then my good dispatcher moved to another dept. so i had another new hire, from werner. it was ok. i wasnt getting rich there but was pretty happy. like i said, i may have just been lucky. but after you drive for a few years you learn not to let everything bother you,, you just do the job.

These days...BAD, VERY BAD!!! I am just about to quit. They have no miles and they will starve you to death, especially if you are an o/o. You'll be lucky to have 2000 miles on occasional week. And they keep on hireing and hireing and hireing.....wtf.
plus you run in average 11% unpayed.
my advice...DON"T DO IT! i wrote more details in some other posts of mine in "THEY ALL SUCK" thread.

I worked for jacobson for a few months backin 05, I was on the dolalr general account in ardmore ok. no complaints about them, they paid fine and the work was not bad, actually it was better than promised. the dispatcher was an ok guy, I got along with him pretty good, only reason I left is because I had been working in the oilfield and the money was better than any otr job out there
I would stil be in the oilfield but I was laid off yesterday, so now I am looking for a new job

I work for Jacobson now. I have been their for 6 weeks and looking for a job already. Last week my paycheck was $351 for 7 days. All I get is 150 to 200 mile runs. I picked up in Chicago on a Friday and the ld delivered in Indy on Monday. I sat at the Pilot all weekend. They payed me $40 a day layover. ($80). My unpaid miles average 12 to 15%. You may get empty on Monday morn and they will send you a load that loads Tuesday night and and its only 20 miles away and they wont pay layover because you are under a dispatch. If you get unloaded in South chicago and you have to load in North Chicago, they won't pay you anything to go pick up the load because its in the same zip code. Sometimes I run 40 miles to pick up a load without pay. You WILL be out 12 to 14 days. They tell you that you will get home thru the week. NOT TRUE. They say they run Midwest, South and Southeast. I DONT. Ive been their for 6 weeks and only run upper Midwest. You WILL go to NJ. They have a lot of freight but it only goes a few hundred miles. I have had DRIVER ASSIST loads and had to unload 100 pound boxes. They will pay $90. I would NOT recommend this company. They will starve you out.

I am a currently an owner operator for Jacobson. They have NO MILES. And for some ridiculous reason, they keep putting on trucks. They would be ok if they had miles. For the last several months, you're lucky if you average 2000 miles per week. My fleet manager informed me that last month, of the 63 drivers on his board, I ranked 3rd in overall miles. I only had 9200. I'm considering other options. I haven't seen any signs that would lead me to believe it's going to get better anytime soon...

Ive been working for them since Jan. 14th. I get $300 paychecks, 150 mile runs, and no home time. All I run is IA, IL and IN. Usually same day delivery. Ive never been late, never turned down a load. They kept promising it would get better. It got WORSE. Last Thursday they had run shuttles and payed me about $8 per hour. This is the worst company Ive worked for in 24 years of driving. Last Friday I sent them a message on the qualcom telling them I would be quitting next week. A few seconds later I get a message back saying "10/4". They dont give a #### if you quit. They only have about 270 trucks. In this months newsletter they welcomed about 100 new drivers on board. STAY AWAY FROM JACOBSON. THEY WILL STARVE YOU TO DEATH.
