suggestion

if you think you'd like local stuff, you might try midwest motor express. i have worked for them out of the madison terminal since last august, and i worked 2.5 years before that with an OTR company affiliated with them. i have been treated well enough, they don't quite pay union wages, but there isn't much company-imposed hassle (simple, straightforward work days, no weekends) and i hear of a lot of places that pay a lot worse. benefits are decent. i don't know how large their terminal is in cedar rapids, but there is one there. hard to say if they'd be looking for anyone or not currently. personally, i think i'm going to go back OTR, but i think working in IA would be less stressful, biggest problem i have is just the job itself, i hate driving in milwaukee traffic so often... and i miss driving out west.

I applied over there a few years ago. Seemed like a decent gig. I was working for sharedmed at the time pulling the medical scanners. Our shop was just on the other side of 51 from you guys. the new shop is out in cottage grove now. They made me mad for some reason and I applied over there by you. Must not have been anything too bad as I stayed there. I always stayed the money was too good and the work was gravy. I only left because I moved to TX.
