I have been leased to Landstar fo 14 years. Their commitment to safety is 110%. I have found that as long as I run safe and compliant, turn my logs and other paperwork in on time I rarely hear from them. This is one of the best (and worst) things about this company. As for Road Stars being appointed as corporate police, That is not the case. I have heard of a Road Star calling the company about other drivers but this is also done by drivers that are not road stars. (I am not a road star) What Landstar expects from these drivers is to set an example for others and try to showcase our company, and trucking in general in a positive manner. Landstar's business model allows any owner operator to run their business almost anyway they want as long as they follow the rules. The downside to this is almost all other Landstar drivers are my competitors as much as my business partners.
