I saw that on their web site also, but when I applied, I asked if they went through c1 or had their own school. Randy said they had their own school.

Do you people read these threads or just skip to the end?..Do you realize that WIL-TRANS is a division of PRIME...if you want to know what their training program consists of goto PRIME's site...You're going through Prime's school, then out with a trainer for a YEAR!..running team, getting trainee pay..if it takes you a year to learn how to do this job, you need to find another profession...I know times are hard and people are desperately grasping onto anything that promises hope, but take a deep breath, step back and weigh your options...(contact driving schools in your area, contact a local junior college, there are government loans they can help you get to pay for training. Then contact companies, your school will have placement programs already in place, you will have to go with a trainer for a month or two, then your SOLO) Teaming may be what you want to do, but being forced into a team operation for a year at trainees wages?..No thanks

That's correct... they pull our reefer trailers. That's the only connection, unless there's something new going on with training. WilTrans is a completely separate company from Prime, owned by other people. The only connection that WilTrans has with Prime is that they operate through Prime's Logistics Program. Prime is basically acting as a broker for them. WilTrans takes advantage of the same program any owner-operator can take advantage of.

If Wil-Trans is your only option...Fantastic, grab at the opportunity. I would never advise you against bettering your circumstances, if you have exhausted all other avenues..That being said, I did drive for Wil-Trans, their operating lanes (which I describe in a previous post, same thread) and revenue to the truck didn't agree with what I wanted out of life, so I left. During orientation, everything was PRIME, from safety, to logging, to fueling..right down to the overhead projection with the PRIME logo(s) and all the handouts. Someone mentioned Wil-Trans drives Peterbilts and Prime has Freightliners..better look again...Prime is driving Petes also. (I pointed that out for arguements sake, doesnt mean anything)...Wil-Trans dispatchers are in Primes building also...As far as Wil-Trans having their own training facility? Not unless they have moved to a MUCH MUCH bigger location, and they haven't. You're not even supposed to bring a truck and trailer combination to their facility, it's that small. They have their own training program, using Primes trainers, on Primes facility with other Prime students...(I'm not bashing Wil-Trans, I'm trying to put as much information out there so people can make an informed decision)...I will relate one experience I witnessed on the first day of orientation...A man and woman had been brought up from Alabama to start with Wil-Trans...While Wil-Trans was inputting their information into THEIR computers Prime called over and told Wil-Trans they could not hire them under any circumstances. They had quit Prime to goto work for Wil-Trans, and apparently didn't leave under good circumstances...They had already been pre-screened for hire by Wil-Trans, but when Prime found out they were there, BIG Brother said NO...Maybe seperate companies, but definately from the same mold.. I can put a tie on my dog, teach him to walk on his hind legs and call him Jerry Lewis (Wil-Trans)...but at the end of the day, he's still a dog named TJ (Prime)...best of luck, stay on your side of the road while being passed Just a quick side note..Western Express hires out of Florida Last edited by Jaguar115; 4 Weeks Ago at 06.40 PM..

Wil trans is financed by Prime when D W got in trouble and filed bankrupcty ole mister lowe bailed him out thats why they only pay 70 % instead of 72 %.They are or was in there own building but alot has changed this year ... If it at all possible stay away from them they WILL have you sign a contract that you will stay for at least 15 months or they will take every thing you have down to your first born .... By the way everything they do is for prime, trailer washes, fuel cards, transflo, everything they do goes thru prime . And as no tarps said the ONLY pull Prime trailers and you have to take whatever load they have for you on any given day
