During orientation, everything was PRIME, from safety, to logging, to fueling..right down to the overhead projection with the PRIME logo(s) and all the handouts. Someone mentioned Wil-Trans drives Peterbilts and Prime has Freightliners..better look again...Prime is driving Petes also. (I pointed that out for arguements sake, doesnt mean anything)...Wil-Trans dispatchers are in Primes building also...I can put a tie on my dog, teach him to walk on his hind legs and call him Jerry Lewis (Wil-Trans)...but at the end of the day, he's still a dog named TJ (Prime)...best of luck, stay on your side of the road while being passed
Just a quick side note..Western Express hires out of Florida
Yup... pretty much the case. To the best of my knowledge, they do have a different pay structure than Prime does... couldn't say what those differences are.

As fuel prices climbs back up (they already are - around 50-cents per gallon or so since the beginning of the year,) even the guys at Western will start slowin' down... just to keep the bottom line from eating them up.

Well....

Things are still going great! We haven't had any problems. The only thing that is hard on us is the time away. It's 4 weeks out and 4 days home. But we knew that before he signed on with them. There seems to be a steady flow of trainees. Not even a week between one finishing up and getting a new one. From what i heard Wil-trans sold there own facilities to cut costs and moved in with Prime. Not sure about the details.

I don't get on this site much anymore but i get updates from this thread in my e mail. If anyone wants to ask me a few questions, feel free. I'll tell you what i know or see if i can find out.

Hey mike's chick I'm glad to hear you & mike are doing alright. I do understand the away time is hard; Is hard on you & mike. Sometime its just nice to have someone to talk to. Have you ever thought about going teams with him. I talk to my lady and we are going to try it. I will go first to drive & then she will ride at 1st to see if she can do it. I beleive she can, Her idea,I'm all for it. It would be easy for me if she would came. That way would not be so stressed out for home time. How mike like the driving, The rig he got in good running order, a peterbilt. Is the paychecks on time, And the amount you was told you would make. Thanks for the reply info so hard to come by!!!

I have a question too if you don't mind Mikes chick....Is the company pushing leasing with your husband? Hubby is there now and the plan is for me to join him after orientation (after he reaches his 90 days so he can train me). We do not want to lease and it seems that all of their husband and wife teams are lease. Thanks

I picked up a brochure from my school. I haven't asked about the opinions of the teachers. I will have a CDL, then pay almost $3000 for them to train me more? Sign a 15 month contract? What if the guy you work with is a total ####### that screams at the 4 wheelers when you are trying to sleep?

I know you have to pay to be married, but to another guy? My last marriage only lasted 13 months.

It would seem like the lower pay for 15 months would be "paying your dues."

What happens if you have to quit for a medical or personal reason? You owe them the whole $2850?

They sound like a great company after 15 months.

So 5'11" and 210 makes me a blimp? So I will go all the way to Mizzou to find out I don't meet their weight requirements?

6'2" and 160? You are a stick!

Ask your recruiter... at least on the Prime side, it's a maximum BMI restriction they've put on due to the feds preoccupation with sleep apnea.
