We have an antsy 8 year old so going on the road isn't much of an option. I would REALLY love to, but it doesn't seem possible. Mike loves driving. He has i believe an 07 pete. A few things have broken on it, but they were quick to fix it. It has a generator, which is really convenient. I think they asked Mike about leasing once and he said no. He only wants to drive and train. I know Smooth and his wife didn't go for the lease thing. The pay is always on time and pretty good. Checks are usually 900-1200. A couple weeks ago he made over 2000! In one week! Not saying that is often, but we have seen a few almost that high before.

They have a different thing going for people who already have a CDL. It's like a verification that you were trained right. I'm not sure about the details, but i'm fairly certain there is no training cost. If you can, say a Wil-trans driver referred you. There's a nice bonus for that driver.

I did hear about a guy who, for whatever reason, left before his contract was up. I'm pretty sure he left under good terms though, he only paid a percentage of the training cost. Like $900.

As for health info, i really don't have a clue. Mike's a thin guy. One of the other drivers did need to get on meds for his BP.

Hope that helps.

Mike can take some time between trainees if he wants. Maybe in the summer i'll find a good camp for our daughter. The miles are better with a trainee though. Two drivers = twice the miles. Mike finished his contract in July.

I'm gonna see if i can figure out how to PM you about his info. I'm really ready for bed. lol, might have to look into it in the morning.

Hello Mr. countrycruisers Thanks for the pm. I don't able to send any pm's just let. Got have 50 post. You know I don't know really If I'am going sole or team. I like the sound of sole. You know like my stuff. Sleep in a non moving truck. When you go to pee, eat, just you and the open road. Teams I do know at first it will be teams. But that's a learning stage. But you get more miles, get to go east to west. You do have some one there if you run into any problems. WE were thanking teams awhile back, With my lady co driver. But as day go bye she seems she not up for it. Any way this what I want to do before I go to big highway in the sky. Got nothing to loose. But time it self. I did read your threads some good stuff, really never thought about leasing a truck. When you move to a diff. co. did you keep your truck are did you go co. truck. There lot I don't know about leasing. Who pays gas, tires, break downs, tows, lumpers. I heard some guy talking about his turbo whet out in his truck. He lost all power, was unable to complete his load untill it was fixed. The turbo was 3000.00 plus labor.Thats alot of money for one part. But the truck got to have one are just not going where fast. Hey thanks for the info.Good to here for you.I hope you & wife are doing fine.

The reason I asked you if you would be going solo or team is because the teams get to go coast to coast. The solo drivers they keep up and around the mid-west and north east. The freight pays better up in the north east and it is easyer for a solo driver to make the money they need to make to handle the payments they have. Teams can take the lower paying freight to the west coast and still make money because they are constantly moving.
When we left wil-trans we did not take the truck because it was not that kind of a lease. The truck we leased and ran team with for two and a half years was a truck we would not want simply because we ran the #### out of it. We turned it in the dealership.
The truck we leased was still pretty new when we leased it and had most of the warrenty left on it. So when things like the turbo went out the warrenty covered it. Anything not covered by the warrenty came out of our settlement. Fuel is your biggest expense every week. We would fuel at least once a day and it was anywhere from six to eight hundred dollars every fill up. Our truck would run close to 75mph but we would only run 63mph to save fuel. Trust me we saved a bunch of fuel this way.

So! After the training is over(which they said I had to do.)Yeap I hear ya! I can be able to go solo with a lease a truck.Make sure it pretty new with warrenty lefted on it. Still be able to make money. Sounds great. What your saying is lease to drive not to own. Wil trans will help you get these NE loads # 72% of the load. Be able to pay 6 to 8 hundred dollors for tank.( if the price does'nt go up)once aday(700*7=4900.00). Be able to make a I thank I heard 120.00 week payment. Plus all other expences( oil, anti freeze, food, showers, tolls, hope like hell no tickets/fines).I'm still going to make money? This wil trans guy most be some great guys. I don't know a thang about how much you can make. But like the sound of it(there little more freedom in lease). I got to start reading these threads on lease. Ok am I seeing this right, does it sound right. Help me out here. thanks courtycruisers before I sign my life way.

Hey listen you should be shooting for getting 800 to a 1000 miles out of a tank of fuel. Depending on your loads and your driving you will probably only do 4 to 6 hundred a day. So you will not need to figure on all that money for fuel so soon. Also those numbers I gave were when fuel was so high.. There was one time we paid almost a thousand dollars for a tank of fuel. The price has come down conciderably since then. On the other hand we had a fairly new truck that cost nearly a thousand dollars a week for the truck payment.

Thanks courtrycruisers!! For your time.I have alot to learn. Your info. is key for me to make a choose! I just second guess my self sometimes if I able to do this with wil trans. Life is too short, your right about that. I want to get out there do my job, live the life style, make some good money.Be able to come back here and tell you how great it is to be a lease from wil trans. Thats all. I need to stop and make a list of thangs I have ? for, That you may be able to anwser. You have been there, done that, and brought back a tee shrit! Great stuff!! Thanks countrycruisers. 4 more post to before pm. Keeper between the ditches. Here a ? to start with After all paper work how lone did it take to get first load.I going to guess that wil trans does not supply frig, mattress, premits, tie downs for loads. Did you have to sit a long time before your next load. Was you able to have more say over your loads. Was dispatch very helpful to you, on the bad days for running. As you can see I have a lot of ?, That I have on idea of what I'm doing.
