He is testing on Monday. He should be on the road by the Friday after that. I think he has to get his cdl changed to our home state within 10 days of getting it. So if you want to talk to him directly that is the time line. Even that depends on how he feels when he gets here. He doesn't have internet access unless he is here. But if you want to give me a few questions i can ask him for you.

We're really impressed by them all around so far. The recruiter was great. He loves his trainers. They are all so nice! If you can't pick things up quickly they will spend a little extra time on you. There was a lady in my husband's class, who had transfered in from the last class, who needed to work on a few areas. They gave her some extra time and now she has her cdl.

One thing that i know might deter people is you have to run team for your first 15 months. And i think that all of there trailers are reefers. Some people seem to have an aversion to those. I'm sure i'll find out why soon enough, lol.

I have my CDL's already and have some experience OTR. So thats a plus for me. He didn't mention anything about running teams for 15months. I will have to call him first thing in the morning and ask. One thing that I didn't care for. The per diem is included with pay. This might have to do with. This company is mainly O/O and lease contractors.

Mike didn't have his cdl or any experience so he has to go through the whole shebang. The first part of the 15 months you are being trained otr the second part you are training. Maybe you wont have to do that because you already have your cdl. They might have you do a refresher course though. I know some people did. I don't have a clue about per diem. I think it has something to do with food and other expenses? Mike is going to be a company driver and may become O/O if he feels that that is what he wants to do. That would be way down the road though. They said he can be company for as long as he wants though.

So i asked about paying for training. It is $24.00 a week out of your check for 15 months. Also if you have your cdl and otr experience with a good record you don't need training. You would just have orientation.

Thats what they told me.They pay for hotel and food, But they don't pay anything for orientation.

He has been an awsome guy to get to know (his train obbsetion is a little wierd) LMAO but is someone I look forward to knowing for a long time.

He has been very supportive to my fiance, who is in his training truck.

I am hitting the road today, and he has offered to be there for me in assuring her safety in the hotel, which is full of truckers. I am from NY and that gets my respect!!

As for Wil-trans, nothing in anyway has been pushy, miss leading, or against what they said from the start.

They are big enough to make good money, but small enough to care!!!!

I knew he would do great! Driving is his thing, ya know?

Believe it or not there are a lot of railfans out there. There is even a thread on here that people are talking about trains. There are websites that have just tons of pictures of engines, any engine you want to see.

That's another reason that i think he will do great in this line of work. He has a way with people. He knows how to handle them, no matter how rude or whatever. I've heard that shippers and dispatchers can be a bit of a handful.

I'm glad he can reassure you. He was worried about leaving me home alone, i can't imagine how you must feel. But i'm sure everything will be fine.

I can not wait to see him again!!! That first week i felt like i could have just died! I think i'm adjusting well though. As long as i hear from him i'm ok.

What do they pull, Van, Flatbed, Reefer?
Are they strict on who they hire and are they self-insured?
How long are drivers out on the road?
How many units do they have?
Do they hire CDL graduates?

I can answer a few of these questions.
1. They pull reefer but also haul some dry freight
2. Not sure as IF they are strict. I think it has to do with your past. Didn't ask about if they are self insured.
3. company drivers 10-14 days
4. I was told 150 trucks
5. Not sure about hiring CDL graduates BUT. They do have CDL training. I think they would hire a CDL grad but I'm sure you would have to go thru some of there training also. My suggestion would be to call them. The guy was nice, not pushy and very informative when I asked questions.
