yep still kickin for now...until they get me for excessive service fails this month because of other lazy drivers who dont post trip, or dont mention to anyone that a trl needs a DOT inspect, half ### fix a belly line air leak on the trl with duct tape (im sorry, Duct tape isnt going to contain 130 psi), Bubble in tire. Cant blame latest reefer problem on anyone because it MAY have worked when dropped off. I guess its time to go get my X and Doubles endorsements.
my trl had the belly line leak when i picked it up from P&G to NM a couple loads ago. Thanks for the unsafe trl driver! 43k in the box with reduced air pressure for the trl brakes....thank god i was mostly on the flat lands.Last edited by mikley28; 07.20.2010 at 11.13 PM.

Had a close encounter yesterday on I77 in Ohio. Following a flatbed loaded with 3 autos and some other junk, 400 yards off my nose his tandems locked up and debris started launching. It really looked liked something in the movies or Nascar. I glanced left, thru on the blinker and jumped in front of a four wheeler. Kudos to that driver he guided his rig to the shoulder 65 to 0 in nothing flat. the trailer did slide about 25 degrees into th ditch, but he didn't jack knife or worse, roll. I cleared him well in the center lane. Left the hammer lane for the slug of traffic behind me. The driver was wide-eyed , but safe. I am sure he was thanking someone for being over his shoulder.
Not sure exactly how to handle that at full speed, under load....Do you let thte trailer stop the rig? I know you don't want to jerk the wheel. Is it like ice...;hold firm and donta toucha nothin?

they SHOULDNT but they seem to do as they please. All my loads are screwed up in some way or another that i dont even care about service fails anymore. LOL
This load of chocolate i have now, isnt even expected at my 99. I go up to the call box to call the guard, give him my delivery # and looks through 5 days worth of loads due in and mine isnt on any of them. Well the way i see it RIGHT NOW... no appointment, im not supposed to be here cant give me a service fail for being somewhere im not supposed to be.

No one ever checks those. when we ran beer, we had 6 trailers in a month and a half that came out of Utah with no inspections.
And, I kid you not, at least twice a month we get one missing registration, or overdue for an inspection. No one ever checks these trailers.
Same with crossmember damage, I've found 4 in the last month with serious damage that no one's ever reported.

Cellphone (or calculator if you don't have one)
notebook with a couple pens
book, puzzle book, or something to read to pass the time
7-10 days worth of clothes
Sleeping bag and pillow (travel pillow if you can manage it)
laundry stuff (check out the travel size aisle, or grab some of those purex 3 in 1 sheets to save space)
Dirty clothes bag
toiletries (not optional)
good sized bag of beef jerky
granola bars
and once you get to WVC, grab a gallon of water at Walmart before you leave with your trainer
That last three are optional, but since you never know what your trainer will have on the truck, you want to be prepared. My trainer did not have a fridge, microwave, or television, and would prefer to get to a location 2 days early and sit in their parking lot, rather than stay at the truck stop 2 miles down the road. So, the beef jerky, granola bars, and water were sometimes all I had, since anything that needed refrigerating would go bad within a day.
