The Central Cafe is open Mon-Friday it has nice food, A little pricey in my opinion but not to bad for one meal a day LOL .

When JJ was a company driver we had a Volvo for three months and no mod cons in it, besides the TV and a Cooler, Newtruckerwidow is right it gets very expensive to eat at truck stops and there food SUCKS.

Being a Solo Driver you do have the top bunk for storage, we use the top bunk in the Pete for the Microwave and boxes of snacks and canned goods.

A lot of the trainers have there trucks pretty decked out, with all the mod cons and cook there meals in there trucks, Some will eat out at truck stops twice a day that gets verrrrrrrry pricey even buying a burger to heat in your microwave later is expensive.

Be prepared for meals to cost a Minimum of $25.00 day. They don't miss you at the truck stops when it comes to there prices.

Yes, a cooler will be a top priority once I get into my own truck. Nice thing about my Food bars is they really don't need to be cool. But I have a line GOOD tasting energy drinks as well as sugar free sports drinks that I prefer cold. I may also need a separate bag just for all my supplements. One thing that occured to me is that I need to bring all my bottles with me. Last thing I need is some DOT official looking at all my pills and not being able to prove what they are.

Absolutely!!!!!!!!!! If you take meds keep them in their original packaging. That's in case you get pulled over by anyone, state, local or dot.

We have a fridge that will fit in under the bunk so when we get an inverter 1bad will put that on his truck. Hopefully when he comes in next time. It is very tiny but will hold enough to get him through a few days at a time then he can refill it a lot cheaper than buying out every time he wants something to eat or drink. Just remember to bring variety w/ you Fozzy. I made 1bad 4 gallons of tea but he is very content w/ that. I did get him 32 bottles of water and a case of 24 monster drinks for when he can't get his coffee ie stuck at a shipper.

He just called. Dispatch gave him wrong directions he was about an hour late for his pick up this morning then it took them 3 hours to load him. He left at 4 this morning and he still hasn't made it out of metro atlanta. Now he is stressing to make his delivery on time.

1bad just called. Dispatch sent him the wrong way this morning so he was almost an hour late for his pickup. Now he is hoping he makes his delivery on time. He left at 4 this morning and he is still in metro atlanta only about an hour away from home. Jess do you know if that qualifies for a service failure since dispatched screwed up his directions?

If I was him I would call and ask his FM!!

They will probably say he should have called and got directions from the shipper.

We have got screwed up Directions a few times and when we couldn't find it on GPS or Centrals directions we have called the shipper and they have given us directions in.

I think we have 8-10 different flavors of energy drinks, plus 2 of the sports drink. I've never tried the moster brand, but I don't get paid to endorse those.

LOLOLOLOL well you gotta drink what you get paid to endorse. I don't drink any of them way to much caffine for my liking. I can't even drink to coffee or mt dew to much in those so I don't even attempt the other ones.

I found one at walmart that holds ice for 5 days for 22.97. JJ and Jess's Pete has alot more storage than the volvo does for electronics. You will be by yourself so you can use the top bunk to store coffe maker, microwave, toaster stuff like that then just pull it down and put in on top of the cabinet when you are using it. I put stuff like waters, cans sodas, a couple gallons of tea (we're southern and gotta have good sweet tea..........lol) snacks on the top bunk. He flew home for a couple days after school before training. And brought a 30 in duffle and a cpap back on the flight w/ him and had no issues. He was even able to get a pocket knife through the Atlanta airport security going back out. Keep in mind while you are at the terminal in the cells there is no way to heat food. They don't tell you that before your 1st trip to Walmart. I know he bought some food that could be easily cooked in a mircowave and ended up having to eat it cold. So eat a big lunch in the chow wagon thing and skip dinner. The shuttle does go to walmart every day but only one shuttle and you may not always get a seat depending on how many are in your class. There is a little roach coach thing that comes by after class 1bad says is pretty good and very resonably priced. Hope that little bit of info helps you out. Just pinch pennies while you are at school b/c once your out w/ your trainer the truck stops can and will get very expensive when you are eating out of them a couple times a day.
They do have a microwave in the vip lounge. its across from the shower rooms, and next to the bathrooms. from what i have heard they only have microwaves in the smoking rooms at the ramada. JJRanch
