They also have harder standards for hearing. I was almost at their max when I took my DOT with them, but have had no issue anytime since or before.
The guy used the whisper test and I could not hear him. So I had to go for an actual test.
Good info ChromeDome. I didn't realize that a company would be able to set their own standards regarding a DOT physical. Lets hope I pass mine. I should do well. Im 34 and in decent shape!

Before you get your physical, drink only water on the morning and you should do fine. Then after the physical, have your share of sweets and caffeine and etc.

I was just at the Central Ref. site looking at their pay scale and at the 4-5 year mark you are only making .31 1/2 cpm? Is there more to this company that I am not seeing? That is not much money after 4-5 years.

That is low I agree. They start students # .28/m. I would think it would be around .35 or higher.

I guess for some people it don't matter how broke they are as long as they look good going down the road. Central has some good looking equipment.

Definitely have seen companies out there paying newbies that much.

I will have to sell my soul to the dark side to get the valuable experience. I plan on sticking around for 1 yr. Then I will re-evaluate the situation at that point.

Lay off the salty foods, and drink lots of water before your phyical and you should be ok. I would also do a spot check at Walgreen, or Walmart. They have free bp test in the pharmacy area. Hope that helps a little!
im not the one with that problem... it was papi. I used to work in a pharmacy so i know about drugs.

I got a pretty cool roomate who is here for the training and also just arrived today. We split a pizza and had it delivered since there is not much around here. Its pretty cool here seeing all the Central trucks parked next to each other. I start orientation tommorow at 6 am. Its very hot here and I been use to Fall weather for the last week lol.

Not sure what the DOT req is but I do know thats what the company wants.
I am 40 miles from Conley at the TA. I might stop in to get some trip pak envelopes. like maybe a box of them if they let me since im rarely at a terminal.

they want you to go lease op. so they keep the company driver pay scale low. Besides its a starter company. chances are you will probably be at another employer after 2 or 3 years.
