Hello Jess, what are the odds of having JJ as my trainer. Can a noob request a trainer? I know this has been talked about but my brain is fading fast. You guy's all sound like good people. Not looking forward to getting stuck with someone like the mad crapper I have read about!

yea thats true landshark, it was a joke though i havent smoked in over 10 years i drink a 6 pack of beer every once in awhile. Mainly when im cookin a couple of them big T-bone steaks on the grill today is the day , im gonna call recruiting at central and find out my fate to whether or not they will give me a chance with a felony on my record. kinda scary cuz i dont have the money to go to school and company schooling is my only option rite now. My grandfather drove for 40 years so the test are realy simple to me. I' ve been around trucks my whole life. Maybe they will be good to me...wish me luck truckers! (i'll need it) even tho they say a felony is reviewable.

Central can be really picky with records. Just make sure you tell them everything. Recruting has still been known to say "no problem" then you get there, start training, and someone changes there mind and boots the person. I have seen it happen several times. So I would give all info to your recruter, then talk to there supervisor or the main office. I would not want to go thru all the hassle of getting there, being there for 5 days, then having someone change there mind. Because the recruter does not hire you, they just get you there.

On the drinking thing. I have not had one since December, and that was one beer, and I am home every weekend. Heck this week I was home Tuesday (by choice, my truck is in paint and I did not want to drive in the snow in an unfamilar truck), and I am home again today, though they may call me in for a run. The economy is finally catching up with steel hauls.....
Change that, work called time to go.

I was also hinking of going with Central, I have also talked to drivers and over all they seem happy with their lot. Anyone have concrete issues that are negative or positive. I am currently making 38 per mile with a flatbed outfit but just want to drive without all that manual labor. Any ideas?

Hi Dockrat, Yes you can request your Trainer!! JJ picked up a new student on Tuesday and will have him for 28 days and then he is coming home for a few days.

Jride, as I said it can't hurt to ask but as Chrome said be upfront with them.

Sonbeam, I am pretty sure Central aren't hiring any experienced drivers at the moment, But if your interested call and check.

Dockrat,

1badz28 was jj's cherry popper in the training department (forgive me jess). You might to pm him for info on how JJ trains. Also, compared to the rest of centrals fllet, JJ has a leased truck which has a 13spd. You'll be getting more experience as you'll get to know two tranny types. Very valuable info for future jobs that may require a 13spd.

Russell is the head recruiter and seems like an OK guy!

my felony was stupid, it was for "burglary"..basicly every company i have applied for i got turned down, except MAY,CYPRESS,CAROLINA CRST. but now crst says felonies has to be 10 yrs old and wont let me resubmit an app. but back to my felony story..a friend ask me to take him to my bestfriends house to get his car cd player back that hadnt been paid for, basicly he was repoeing it. i drove him there to the guys house to get it back. btw he gave the guy 3 weeks to pay him the $60 for the cd player. anyways the guy wasnt home, i was in the car and i see my friend go in the guys house and come back to the car with the cd player and we left,,WE BOTH GOT CHARGED WITH BURGLARY. EVEN THO I DIDNT EVEN GO IN THE HOUSE! and my friend only took back what was rightfully his. so anyways here i am 7 yrs later with this felony. only time i have ever been arrested, i did not do any jail time tho. My only hope is a company that has school training cuz i cant afford to just pick a school and go to it, its gonna have to be one that offers cdl training for a employment contract to "just get my foot in the door".
