Dang I just now experienced one of those Central 'horror' stories..

I made a drop in Gaffney, SC. No Empties.. Dayum I need one to go home. It's four hours from Gaffney to my home... The person picking up my load is still in Alabama...

So my DM tells me not to wait BT home and a day early too. I think I will quit.. Geesh what do they expect from me anyway...

No, even the local drivers I know have their own trucks.. They say they will reseat your truck if you take more than four days off in a row, but I don't know anyone that has happened too..

They have enough unseated trucks that they don't need too, but they do say they can if they have too.. Company truck isn't making the squat if it sits for too long..

Ruger don't want to burst your bubble but Central isn't going to let you take a week off at a time. Like Celtic said, I think 4 days tops then they come get the truck. They are stickler about having their trucks sit for more than a few days.

Hell I ended up in the hospital out in Tyler, TX and they sent someone to come get the truck. Completely understandable though. When I owned my trucks I didn't want them sitting either! Just because you take a week off doesn't mean the bank wants to also! This is what sucks about being an O.O. When you go home and take time off you still have to pay for that truck and the insurance and the permits and the qualcomm, blah, blah, blah!

LadyK good to hear things are on the up and up for you guys. I think you guys made the right choice stickin with your DM. Kind of shows Central that you guys are putting forth some extra effort in seeing things out. Just keep trying to stack your loads like you said. We actually used to take upon ourselves to reset appointments and try to unload early if dropping wasn't an option. Your DM will probably love you for helping them out. Just make sure its cool with them ahead of time.

Way to go Henry! You should have a few others from the forum there with you this week. You guys are going to have a blast out there. I'm totally jealous!

Pretty scenic flight. Depending on which runway you are coming in on they sometimes fly right over the Central terminal and you can see all the trucks and such. Check out the lake too if you can. Really cool colors looking down from a plane. Not sure if its because its a salt lake or not. Steep take offs and landings out there in Salt Lake too cause of the big mountains!

Good luck man, wish I was there! Check out my profile picts if you want to see some of the scenery from the terminal and such.
