Yep, ever notice how quiet early Monday morning is, and then, wham the usual barrage of messages. That's when the meetings adjourn the BS is broadcast to the fleet.

12 volt cooler works pretty well. We went through 3 Colemans in 5 months, and had the same problem every time, so we swapped over to Igloo. We went through two, the first Igloo was just too big, and eventually aodpted a funky smell that we couldn't get rid of. I have the second one, it's a smaller one that fits in the opening on my International. It works great, cools well, and runs like a champ.
I think we had it a year before we went local, so I've had it about 15 months and it runs like a top. It's about $120, but it's worth it. We used to eat a lot of sandwiches.
Like others have said, you can purchase an inverter, and for about $75 (shop charge plus the kit) you can have it installed. You can run a microwave with one, just don't buy the puny 1000 watt ones, get 1800 or 2000 watts if you can. Also, they make crock pots, and small ovens. We never used ours much, but I know other people use them a lot.

I hate Mondays, I'm always assured that of the 9 messages on my truck, 2 are my logs, and 1 is a load, and the rest is crap. By tuesday you have another 3-4 including the fuel surcharge, then there's 2-3 on Friday for the weather.
The weather messages are really the only ones I appreciate, because when I was OTR, they gave me a heads up on what I was driving into. Everything else is usually crap.
I'm glad my boss doesn't use the Qualcomm except to send loads over.

You might need to take a step back and re-evaluate how things are going. If you're not getting the responses you expect from a message board, you might need to look at what you're typing.
You need to realize that on the internet, people can be anything, and truckers are prone to telling tales. We get a lot of folks who come in and ask about a problem, like you did. Only with them, it eventually comes out that they did something wrong, and they're in trouble, but they're trying to garner sympathy.
You're right, we don't know you, or your husband. We don't know if you're trying for straight answers, or sympathy, but we respond based on the information we get from you. More information might help.
Your husband needs a new dm.
