I have a student again and should hit 5,700 miles this week to bring me back up. I have a great D/M but her fleet has alot of problems with service as well as log issues somtimes I think the planner drops the **** loads on her and I get my share. I have another account that I can pull money from other then my Central account so I won't go in the hole. Make sure your on your game before you lease every day the truck sits it cost you atleast $ 125.00 a day. I wouldnt lease if I didn't train it's not worth it.

Hey Jess wassssss up.

You did say they give practice tests and that was probably a big help.
There are some numbers to memorize but not to many. They do a really good job on focusing on what you need to know. Remember that this is only a 2 week course so they have to cover information quickly and efficiently. If you fall behind, you may get left there.

So what color truck did he get? and did he get a Vulva OOPs mean't Volvo or a new Prostar?

Believe me I know what it is like when you are expecting them home and it just doesn't happen That lil green face with the mouth moving real quick is me when JJ says baby im gonna be a few days late.
Ouuuch...that was painful. We can't help what he got for his ride, he did want a Prostar but didn't hold his breath...hehehe, nice one Jess.

He got a black Volvo, he said he was pleased with the condition of the replacement truck. He gets pretty anal when it comes to his work truck. Back home the guys would dog him for always washing the truck b/4 he went home or getting crabby at the guys for getting in with dirty shoes or touching his stuff. (Can you spell "OCD" ?) He's getting along quite well with his solo runs...calls me to keep him company on the late nighters because he doesn't have his Sirius Radio yet....I don't mind, it's not like I gotta get up early for work or something. Tonight he's in TX and the storms have been raging, along with the heat. He said the truck stop he's at had 4 central trucks there when he arrived and 2 more showed up after him....at least he found something/someone to pass the time with.

Good to hear that JJ will be home for his 10 hr, maybe you should use your green face more often huh?

Thanks and I won't fall behind like those folks you mentioned. Once I get confirmation on a start date I will resume reading the Utah CDL. I'll spend every waking moment studying to ace each test. Continued success to you...

I'm sorry when JJ had the Volvo he used to call it the V word all the time!

JJ's first Volvo was a black one he had that one for a week and then got a White Volvo.

Any idea how long it will be before he gets home???????

Drop'n'hook Terminals are in West Valley City UT, Fontana CA, Henderson CO and Conley GA.

We have drop yards we share with Central Freight in Chicago, Texas and a few other places.

I think the idle is under 30% and they are strict on it a few Central drivers have reported being charged for over idle.

the date he gave me was the 19th, and that is according to his schedule for the last load he has coming up for a drop in OR. He is leaving TX right now and his stops are NM, AZ then delivers in CA. from there he has a load to OR. once that is done he'll have a better idea of when he has a load home. poor guy had some bad food last nite in TX and was up all night in the potty so he is tired as heck. he is hoping that after the OR drop he is headed to SLC, (wishing with a load but a dead head is looking like a welcoming option if it gets him his H/T.) so until he drops in OR.....we'll see.

wow....did that makes sense? i'm starting to get dizzy here....must be the life of a truckers wife.

who are the major co's. that central delivers to here in my neck of the woods?? i know i saw a truck at a ridley's store several weeks ago. if the list is hella-long then never mind.

ya think if i called in a massive order to Fred Myer i could probably get my husband home quicker???.....lol, just a thought.

btw, thanks for the info on the "drop n hook" he had just mentioned about the idle time and how it's almost impossible to sleep during the day with the heat.

When trying to sleep in a truck when it is hot, remember what i said about ways to try and keep it cooler inside.

Close all curtains, cab and sleeper.
Put AC on low in cab, high in sleeper.
Set around 68-72, whatever temp in there he is semi comfortable. The warmer the better.

The idle system will turn the truck on and off. It will hold the cool air longer with all the curtains closed, even better if he has the sky light cover. Need to keep all the light out.
Much better in a white truck by the way.
