He might want to check & see if he somehow got put down as a regional driver. I know that it is very unlikely, but this is Central so you never know.

Portland's ok out on the island and down on the river, but getting anywhere off the freeways always made me feel like I should NOT be driving a big truck there... wherever that was... the truck stops by the bridge were nice... but ZOOS.
Seattle was ok, out in Auburn, Renton and Kent was good. FIFE SUCKED EVERY TIME. Getting out to Issaquah and North Bend.... what... was that a LOGGING road?? My best adventure was dragging a 53' up (what are those hills, like 10*? ) to the hospital, trying to punch a 53' into a hole at a hospital meant for a pup without crushing any 4wheelers, and when that didn't work, dragging it back down to the waterfront to get the load split at a forwarder...a wonder I didn't kink the trailer into the sleeper on the intersections on the downhill... always an adventure.
River Runner, you just dead head back out by Laughlin?
Anyway.. thanks again. Look forward to getting back in it.
I noticed after I looked at how damn heavy those Lone Stars are...so who can use them? |
LA is kinda of off & on. I have drops out there from time to time, but not too often. I just end up deadheading back to the Fontana yard when I have to go out there.
Rancho Cucamonga is pretty much the same as LA. We get some loads out of Jenny Craig, but other then that I don't think we get too much from there. Our two main places is Nestle & Millard in Ontario, half the damn Central trucks in SoCal sit there every damn day.
There was this place I delivered to in Portland one time, I get off the freeway & stop. I look around & say to myself "Riiiggghhhttt", so I slid the tandems all the way forward. Get to my turn & there just isn't a way for this to go down good. Now mind you I slid those damn things all the way forward & I still rubbed the poll, then as soon as I made the right I had to make a left & did the same thing all over again.
We have a drop yard in Auburn, WA... Not the best, but its a place to park.
Almost nobody can use those Lone stars, thats why they are trying to cut the weight as much as they can. They now mount the fuel tanks as far forward as they can go, but then they run heavy on the steers & it still doesn't even help that much.
