Just a thought.
Thanks for the input Mountain. I'm not an innocent. Projections from training through leasing out to January/February include some making nothing at times, and some making little before getting to about 70% of what most people and the company say you COULD make as a solo lease operator. Think we have a handle on that. Sad, because my experience in the past was FAR better than it would be now, and my lease ($1200/mo + all the fixed costs) was only just a bit better than the Central lease. Made some good money back then.

If understanding the plan at Central correctly, you HAVE to spend 90 days as a company driver anyway. Would probably not otherwise, and probably will start looking into any lease takeovers I run across while training and doing my requisite 90, at least on a "shopping" basis until close to time to lease.

Not sure what "visit the truck stops" means. When at a truck stop, I have fueled, gotten maintenance, washed and tossed the ball to the dog, grilled some steaks, shopped for a minute or two, showered, eaten, and slept. Visiting is rarely on the agenda. Don't want to be thought of as anti-social, but I tend not to "visit" much. LOL

Don't want to overstate it, but I've been on all three sides, trainee, company, and lease operator before. It's been a while, and it wasn't all that long, but I've got a pretty good idea what I'm getting into. Not that I'm a know it all, or that I think I don't have a lot to learn out there... I do, and I appreciate any and all input I can get. Need more recent and more specific training/familiarization with central and the new HOS, etc., that's for sure.

Just finished up the last of the practice tests and we head out in a while for the DMV. Check you all later on. J

Lease end buyout

Does anyone KNOW how much the lease end purchase costs are on average? I know it would vary based on the truck model, mileage, etc.. Just looking for a ballpark figure for my "savings plan"!

They SAY that so they can charge whatever they want. How the heck are you supposed to plan THAT? LOL Anyone have any experience or knowledge of the actual $$ amounts at CR?
FMV looks to be about $35K-$45K for a 4-5 yr old W900 in the REAL world.
