I just got thumped for $167 over idle. Granted I was running spent 2 weeks mostly running texas where temps were over 100. After my hometime, breakdown, and over idle BS, I had a whopping $34 paycheck. I refuse to pay them to drive their ####, and I refuse to sweat my ### off while trying to rest.

When I called to #####, their response was, "Nobody says you have to take your break in your truck, you can always get a motel room for the night"

Anyone know what companies equip company trucks with Tri-packs? I know Marten does, and so does Trans-Am.

I am so over Central at this point it's not even funny.

I hope you do not owe them money BRTD for the schooling. Good luck finding a company that suits your needs. How much do they charge per hour when idling?

After being told they would cover the charges. It took a couple weeks to get these charges put back into his maintenance account. They took it out 4 MORE TIMES! Rhino has an excellent FM. He helps him in anything and everything he needs done. That is the only way to make it with Central. If you don't have the gumption to stand up to them and a FM that will go to bat for you. It's totally not worth it. You will get screwed by a few departments.
That sucks! They did the same to us when the APU broke down took the money and I had JJ call them and it was refunded and Central ended up paying the Bill, Jacki is good to deal with usually tell her the problem and money is put in acc same day!

if the Qcomm doesn't beep at us until tomorrow it'll make for the perfect ending.

OMG....i feel better already.
sorry for the lengthy post....that felt great tho'
Glad you feel better That all really sucks!!
A good Vent really does help. So did they sign paperwork saying that central ref broke the seal????

Bigrig, I would be Peeeeeeved as well and I would have called and asked them if they were going to pay for the motel room!

With so many newbies ready to take a drivers place Central just don't care how they treat drivers.....The last 6 months Central has gone to hell in a hand-basket!

Kinda ironic for a company with REFRIGERATED in their name to deny you refrigeration in your cab.

Hey i got an Aussie car and bike license when i was there in 2005, hung out ai Melbourne for a few months, just ran out last year, shame as it was good ID for me here as the Irish license is a flimsy piece of paper. I guess they couldn't let us just jump in a truck here as we drive on the wrong side at home LOL.

How was the process for you getting your CDL here after driving at home?

Did you like Melbourne???????

I loved Melbourne its so multicultural and they have some great restaurants.

I don't have a CDL here, after 6 years of driving around on an Aussie Licence I decided I would get a drivers licence here and as far as I know I can't get a CDL until I have held an American drivers licence for a year.

Yeah slack of me I know!! But I was moving back to Australia and then plans changed!

Nope don't owe them a cent. Been with them over a year (nearly 2 now) If I didn't have a really good D/M and getting decent miles this truck would be impaled in someone's rear orrifice.

This company really has tanked, I think part of is I have no desire what so ever to Lease (I don't want to work just to make their truck payment, pay for fuel to move their loads, and pay to fix their truck when it breaks down) They seem to think this is a crazy concept, how could I Not want to make a truck payment?

So for now I am documenting every penny they are charging me for idle, as well as taking pictures of the inside and outside temperature at the time. Also I sleep with a CPAP (for sleep apnea) machine which runs the batteries down, so the ICON has to run the truck to keep them charged, which I have no control over when or how long it runs it for this purpose.

Even as a company driver I would not be opposed to say renting a tri-pack for say $25 or $30 a week for a company truck which I think would be more than fair, as the government is giving rebates on equiping trucks with anti-idle devices so they will actually be making money this way. They will get a good return on investment

I mean come on, get with the program, it just makes good business sense to do it, less idling, less fuel used, less wear and tear on the engine.

But for now I have been advised, smile and let them make the deductions, and document everything.

They charge us $65.00 a week for the second hand APU I have to admit it has made a huge difference to our Fuel costs!

JJ likes to be warm in Winter and cool in Summer so he idled summer and Winter

Central will get APU's for the trucks when the government totally subsidizes them (Meaning Free) just like they are subsidized for the training school!

Or someone dies of heatstroke
