The best reffer company that I ran into allot was Marten, or is it Martin lol, I think the former. The "Blue Bird" company.
I talked to many many of there drivers in my time with Central, we run many of the same places. They seem to be a pretty good company. At the time I was getting more miles at Central than many of them were. I think at the time there drivers were getting like 2500-2800 a week. Probibly need to check there thread to know though.
All there trucks also have APU's.
They were also a company that needed some experiance. I think it had been 4 months back then, they would probibly want more now.
I will have to check there thread though. I have no idea how the current economy is effecting them.

SScrab, the 1300 was miles not money....lol.....He never had over $700 for a week. At McDonalds here they are paying $12 an hour. You make more flipping burgers. For having to deal with people i say they deserve it...lmao...I worked in food before and people are really nasty to you.
If I jumped on you, or that was in any way directed at me, I am sorry it came across that way. I did not mean to jump on you. I understand the situation. We did think through this. Thank you for the information. I am sure someone considering going into this for leasing would find the information and words of heed welcome.

As far as the people there making that at McDonalds, we aren't where you are. Here, you can't even get a job at McDonalds.

I so love my company. lol Just got a message from them that there is more damage than they thought and that it will be next week before I get it back. Well DUH!!!! I knew that before they took it in. Supposed to catch the bus back tonight and their going to put me in a loaner till my truck gets back. Would have been nice if that decision had been made sooner and that I could have cleaned some of my stuff out of the other truck. Who knows what will be in this one. Have enough stuff to survive for a week or so, bare bones, but am going to have to hit wally world for bedding or a very cheap sleeping bag. At least I'll be back out, doing what and like, and making some money while at it.

JJ was going to do his year with Central and then go to the Blue birds, his Dad worked for them in Salem OR as a Reefer Tech and he said the company has changed and not for the better!

I want to thank you for the reply, I was looking for how things run in the real world. I really appreciate all the time and feedback you and jess put into this thread. I'm glad I read ~200 pages of this thread, almost all of my questions were answered.

My main fears are about quiting my job, and stepping into the unkown. Im looking ofrward to starting up in October. I also wanted to not sound like I was calling out Sarah on the miles quoted. She has been nothing but helpful when I call and ask questions about schooling and getting ready for the cdl permit.

Rick

Rick
Sarah gets paid to recruit people and she is going to quote what she has been told to say!

Today there was a message on the Squawk Com, don't know if it was Fleet wide or just a message to his fleet?

Any driver who isn't making an effort to be on-time because there is no on-time bonus anymore can leave because Central doesn't need drivers like that!

The on-time bonus for a L/O was $20.00 a load, makes a difference of $60.00-$80.00 a week a little over $3000.00 a year.

You make almost a thousand a week working at a hotel, and you want to give that up for a driving job in today's economy?

Can I have your job when you leave?!?

I thought you were going to manage diana's law office atleast thats the last thing you told me when we talked last on the phone and i was talking about starting a small company . If i thought you were interested you should know better by now that you would have been the the first on the list. There is very few people like you out there that can drive all 18 wheels off a truck and make a del in record time. but you would have to drive a 379 because i don't do freight shaker classics.
