Is this a strike against me as a traffic violation? Will it keep me from being hired?
Have you told your recruiter all of this happened? Lextec had an issue where he went online to pay a tint ticket & thought the jerk of a state trooper (Officer Pruett) was being nice and gave him just a warning on the improper tag. He didn't realize he had to personally appear in court for that ticket. When we changed insurance companies, it came up they actually suspended his license because he didn't show (all of this was over 2 years ago). As soon as he found out, he handled it. We went over all of the specifics with the recruiter, he said it was not going to be an issue.

I guess now you know, just cause you take care of it at the DMV doesn't mean the court issue is handled, huh? Bottom line, just tell the recruiter, make sure they know, fix the application if you have to, etc. Be honest!

They do the classroom stuff in Riverside (CDL class, physical, etc). After you get your CDL permit you will go to the yard in Fontana for driving. After you pass the driving test you will go back to Riverside for orientation and then back to Fontana to be matched with your trainer.

(At least that's the way it worked in January)

Talking

The Sept/Oct crew heading to Riverside so far we have Boots, JW and me Pismo. Anybody I left out, please let me know. I would like to keep in touch as much as possible. Share the experience and pass on the knowledge to the other drivers that are coming after us.

Ask the recruiter.

It has been stated several times that yes, there are loads that go to Colorado. It has been stated that they even have a yard there.

There is no guarantee that you will get any loads to Colorado. Some people do, some people don't.

It has been said that you can ask for your time off to be in places... so if you want.. you could ask for the time off in Colorado. But that's between you and your dm/fm!

Hey thanks for clarifying that for me, I couldnt for the life of me remember where I had heard the whole Fontana/Riverside connection.

Do you know how long drivers are waiting for trainers? How long is the upgrade process? Whats is te usual wait for trucks?
