Well that's fine with me.. I mean im setting either way but what's important to me is that I stood up for what I believe in.. And that's not waiting 2 days for 300 miles.. If they fire me.. Then I can so easily get a job at home with wmart or home depot.. And the sad thing is.. Ill make a steadier and sometime better pay then my 600 one week 100 the other 5 weeks I'm out.. And stability is what I'm lookin for... I really should have researched here before I came aboard....

Oh yeah.. See their plea is pulling me in.. I just wanna be able to provide better for my family.. I understand.. I seen what happened to ya'll and 1bad too.. I just always think I can do better.. I don't have as many bills.. That kind of stuff.. But I know in the end.. I would only be able to pay the truck and that's it.. But I'm one of those people also.. Who will always wounder... "What if"
But too.. I should have worded things diffrently when I refused.. But when someone ignores you for a half day and night.. You tend to get aggervated... I just wish I could have dealt with my situation diffrently...

Leasing from a company seems to not workout for a lot of truckers. If your credit is halfway decent and you want to own a rig then by all means checkout dealers. The cost will be far lower and you will actually own your rig and if you want to change companies you can bring your truck with you. If you lease with a company they still own that rig. There are plenty of used rigs out there but be forwarned...check with the company your with on how old and how many miles a used rig can have before you go shopping for one. Make sure you can take the rig to an independent garage and have a mechanic check it over tooth and nail. Anything wrong get it noted and have the seller fix it or walk away.

Central Driving School
Hi Everyone:
New to this thread and I will be attending Centrals School in Salt Lake next month.
I read posts about the second week of the school being moved to a Hotel.
Can anyone tell me about these accomodations, what Hotel do they use?
Appreciate the feedback.
Thanks,
JST

No offense.. But unless your the chosen ones.. Your just gunna be recording short videos of you argueing, fighting for what 100 miles ya can get.. Seriously.. Come on to central.. Because you think you can get a years worth of exp in or "nah..these guys are just tring to scare me offa here...ill do fine.. I can run 2500 a wk..steady."
what are ya gunna do? Most companies want 2 years exp.. The ones that will take ya at 6 months are just as bad if not worse then central....
Goodness.. How many people ya'll gunna have to see crash and burn.. Before you understand.. They need you for 2 weeks.. That earns them their obama rated "retrain" money from you.. After that.. If you decide to stay.. They'll charge ya for load locks, rider insurance, king pin lock, double charge you on tuition unless you set em straight, I've found a few errors where they charge me double advances and I had to chew em out to get that removed....they charge ya for over breathin.. If ya breath too much at school its an extra hundo...
I mean.. Unless you wanna live on the road, be a loner, loose everything you have, never see your family, always work, always be stressed and on edge because its 100 outside and your icon only idles for 30 minutes at a time... And most of all... See a 16 year old a mcdonalds making more money than you... Then for everything that's great.. Reconsider.. Maybe take that job washing dishes or roofin.. Because truck driving at centrals.. Kinda like working for free...
I wanted to be a trucker.. Be like dad.. Live on the open road.. Make a decent living, so my family could be proud to call me husband and dad.. But all I've gotten at central is.. Goodness hones.. Grey hairs, high bp and splitting headaches.. Not to mention.. Wishing now I had done research and maybe went to college for that computer science... Insteada signin a year of my life away... Just please rethink.. If just for a instant.. what if all this really happens to you.. Can you afford to quit or get fired.. And be sued for tuition and lord knows what else you sign to on that first day....

I'll be attending Centrals School next month as well.
I signed on your You Tube Account and will be looking for any Videos you can upload.
Keep me posted if you have time on the quality of the school and the accomodations there as well.
Thanks,
JST

Alrighty.. The first week.. Your in what seems to be a jail cell.. Two metal bunks with used matresses.. And a chair.. Some have acs that work.. Some don't.. There's a tv room, 3 video games and a pool table.. Your next week is in a hotel.. I've heard atleast 3 or more to a room... The hotel has more eatin places around than ramada did..
School is super fast.. Don't ask stupid questions.. Be efficent with your time.. Don't be late for ron the first few days.. He doesn't have the time to mess around.. Dedicate yourself.. When you drive.. Get it down packed.. Because you have a short period to learn how to forward and backward drive.. Once again.. Dedicate yourself and pick up on stuff asap.. Its all the same stuff.. Over and over and over and over...
School is actually good.. You'll learn a lot to be forgotten.. Just pay attention and don't be one that goes home because you can't remember where to sign your name at.
