| My two cents worth I have been driving a Truck a little over 4 years. This is my 7th job. Why? I won't tolerate disrespect towards me or mine from who refuses to recognize that I AM HUMAN and deserve to be treated as such. With that said, and since this is a "thread" about good companies, or companies you like....the gig I have now ain't half bad. Triad Transport out of McAlester, Okla. I do have some complaints, but....at least I get to run only where I want and get treated with respect. Are they for everyone? Probably not...but it works for me...just my two cents worth |

| Slow down, guy, you're goin2fast. No wonder you are so cranky. You are older than I am and those aches and pains do not get better with age..... |

| I'm with you hero. But they refer to it as having a "bad attitude" at the big boys. Yeh right...and they can all KMA too. But it does make you wonder. How many of these people get out of bed every morning, and take the BS day in and day out? Out of fear? If I have to live in fear of losing my job. Then I'd just shoot myself and be done with the torture. Too many people, willing to eat too much **** and call it jello pudding. Quote:

Drivers are always held accountable. Admin people "claim accountability". If there is any (accountability) it is strictly inter-departmental. Drivers lose their job, or get a bad DAC report. 95% of "issues" are "spun" to make the driver re-think his/her position. Not so for admin or management. The "industry" sucks! The job is fun. Love driving. But, as I have stated....I will NOT tolerate being disrespected by anyone...especially one who thinks(?) they are smart because they perceive themselves higher on the food chain. Y'all have a good day now, ya hear?

| I would guess more than 80% of drivers get ticked off, andf leave a company, over some piddly thing that should have taken 10 minutes to resolve. For example, a company promising weekends off, and then suddenly needing you to work the weekend, more than once. Or saying "no northeast", and then giving a load to L.I. Or telling someone to run illegal "or else"! If companies would just keep the promises they make, there would be a whole lot less driver turnover. Yes, I do realize emergencies come up, and freight needs to be moved. But every load is not an emergency, as some companies lead you to believe. If they can't keep the promises made, on a regular basis, they shouldn't make them. Just my $0.02 worth.....

Just wanted to add a few words. It especially difficult in this industry to get respect because the industry has created this turnover problem and they feel it is the drivers who have caused the problem. We are looked at as numbers until the next walks thru the door. The only people in mgt who do care are the few who used to be drivers that have NOT BEEN BRAIN-WASHED. I would not have been able to successful in the businesses that I have runned and owned if I had treated my employees the way this industry does. The main reason is b/c I did not have people so desperate to work beating down my door I had a hard time finding people to work so I had to keep the ones I had happy. The company I work for now hires 100-150 new people a week. How can anybody expect to probably care at that point just doing the low number that's 5200 yearly. Sad isn't it? Think about what that would do for the people processing all of that or managing it. NOT defending it just observing it after the problem has been creating it. How does it get fixed. Just my few words or not................J

When I started 33 years ago they more less kissed my **** there was a shortage of qualifyed and dependable drivers now it's just a money makn game that needs to come to an end. All newb's should look at the big picture and then ask themselves is this the right company for me. And thats just my 2 cents worth

| Bottom line, if there are no drivers than nothing would get moved. I believe most of the companies have forgot about this a long time ago. With no drivers.....there would be no shipping company. They sit behind their desks making big money, meanwhile the ones that pay their salaries are getting treated like crap. It doesn't help when they do know that when one leaves, they have 5 more waiting to jump up into the seat. But it seems to me it would make more business sense to get a fleet of good drivers and keep them happy. It would be a I'll scratch your back and vice versa, and everyone would know that business would be taken care of. That's my two cents! |
